What It Meant

Pure slid into the pool room, Axis hot on his heels. He was sure that if he looked up, Ma'stbaut was crawling on the ceiling, utterly invisible to anyone who didn't know what they were looking for.

His thoughts were nothing more than a jumble, something that hadn't happened to him since he was a cub. Normally, he was methodical, and nothing he had come across in the past few hundred years had managed to upset him as much as an unknown male telling him that his mate was in danger.

Initially, he had looked down on Axis and the other three males for managing to lose their mate right from Ba'dqeel's bed. But now, he had managed to do the same thing. He was really going to have to put a bell on her so that he knew where she was at all times.

"Fracking tracker," grunted He'dtaalh, coming up behind Pure on his right. "A tracker will work better than anything you are currently thinking."
