Chapter 12- The Next level

Garrett groans as he wakes up. He looked at the notification on his HUD and sees a shocking message about an evolution.

He rises and suddenly notices a shocking revelation.

He was taller!

He felt fit, trim, lean, all those wonderful feelings of having done a three year long workout challenge that makes it last!

He began to check over his body and look at a mirror inside the gym he apparently landed inside to hide in.

He saw his uniform was torn slightly and his vest was now very tight on his frame.

He looked at his reflection and saw his body looking like he had been a marble statue sculpted for the Olympics. He was now 6ft 7inches. Had a bleeding V cut and 6 pack all in the same body! And his biceps were large enough to be shredded and lean but not bulky! His legs were like cut diamonds now! He swears if he was side by side with a martial arts master you wouldn't be able to tell who trained harder for their skill level.

He grins at this and puts back on his now loosened combat vest. He knows he will need new clothes as his ankles and the bottom 2 inches of his calves are peeking out the bottom of his pants. His shirt can't shut now and his boots are very tight. He shrugs as he gathers his forgotten sword and hammer on the floor by the resting bench he took an impromptu nap on.

As he thinks about his changes he also thinks about the changes that have come over the mutants. The bulkers showed emotions, and the bone plated ones seemed to have basic thoughts. Not to mention the speedsters actually had emotional reactions. Garrett hums as he thinks to himself, The longer I survive and the more I grow in strength. The stronger and smarter the zombies and mutants seem to get. If I don't get a clue soon, then I might find myself overwhelmed or at the very least taken out by a smarter mutant who can do sneak attacks.

Garrett then perks up and asks the system, "Please Clarify the evolution I went through, and what it means going forward."

The system chimes and goes, Player has evolved into Advanced human for having one stat reach past 60 and at least 3 stats break past 50. This has made you reach a stage of race for humans called an advanced human. Advanced Humans are stronger, bigger, faster, and smarter than other humans. Best examples are Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen, Jackie Chan, Jean Claude Van-Damme. These humans are excellent examples of naturally occurring Advanced Humans. The next stage of evolution is a Super Human, such as Captain America, Aquaman, Iron Fist, and so on. Player is on the way to reaching new heights and has been the first to evolve in the tutorial week. So as a bonus player Garrett Grimsborne has been gifted +2 to all stats, and 10,000 points for this amazing achievement!

Garrett shakes his head as he is actually getting to a strength range that is unheard of for humans at this rate. He then gasps as he asks, "System what does that mean for power scaling going forward for the world?"

The system answers and Garrett gets worried for the survivors and his own squad the more he hears explained to him.

Player Garrett has reached a new race and as such the tutorial time line will end tomorrow night at midnight. Zombies will double in stat averages in strength and so will mutants. However as many humans in their prime average at 15 in stats. The zombies are about that strength. So doubling will make them all 30s in average strength. A mutant has triple the base stat in their specialization. For example in tutorial mode a bulker zombie is around 45 on average in str. For Speeders 45 in agility. And so on. The rare mutant is a variant that combines the three physical stats as their focus and doubles them all to be a minimum of 30. This next week all these averages will be doubled to keep the pressure on the highest ranked player. So as a result the well trained soldiers of your squad who have averages of 30 in stats will soon be overwhelmed. But they will also have their stores opened to allow them to grow as well. Since their points for the kills have been stored all this time and they will now grow as you have. However be warned. Other advanced humans will begin to show up after tomorrow once other people have their stores unlocked. Be ready for this event. Not all players are interested in survival of the human race and instead see this as a chance to become rulers of this undead infested world.

Garrett sighs out harshly as he nods to this and looks to the system, "So similar to the walking dead then? Only... Worse since the Governor and Nigun were both just powerful humans who knew how to use people. This time they can actually cause real damage with such a system giving them a leg up."

Correct

"Ugh I was afraid of that. But given how we get ten times the points for killing humans I kinda figured this would happen. Any other changes I should be aware of?"

Yes the points per kill have doubled in value for the upcoming hordes. Zombies are now 20 points, mutants and humans are now 200 points. Variant mutants are now 600 points. And alpha zombies are now 1,000.

Garrett nods before going wide eyed at that last one, "WAIT WHAT?!?! AN ALPHA ZOMBIE?! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!"

System message ended. Please grind as many points as possible to prepare for the coming weeks as the zombies continue to grow in strength and intelligence.

Garrett gapes like a fish at this message and rubs his eyes in stress as his fears are confirmed. This world just got a lot harder. He sighs harshly and looks to his points and stats now. "Well I have just over 24 hours left. I am well rested, I am an advanced human now, so all I need to do for the next dozen or two hours is grind in as many dungeons as I can during the remaining tutorial phase."

He goes to find a dungeon and make sure he was prepared... When he felt his clothes tug at his new body, "Right... First a survival store for some fatigues and new hunting vest. Need to invest in some armor. But for now? Time for some boosting points."

Garrett checks for any zombies and then heads to a nearby store for new clothing and any nearby dungeons. he would make it to his squad, but only after he was sufficiently prepared for the coming threats. Especially as he buys up some fresh +5 point stat crystals for each stat. Man this was going to be expensive for buying stat crystals and new armor and of course... the first helper from his summoning tab?

But who?

He would thank about it more once he breaks 100k points saved up. First? Dungeon raiding!

Current stats of Garret Grimsborne:

Str- 97 +2 + 10= 109

Agi- 75 +2 +10=87

Sta- 78 +2 +10= 90

Int- 56 +2 +20= 78

Sense- 58 +2 +20 = 80

Store points - 14,600 - 600
