One Against A Thousand

The foreign soldiers, relentless and ceaseless, surged like a rushing tide, waving their sharp spears and swords, shouting loudly as they charged toward Kaguya. To them, capturing a fragile girl seemed effortless. They thought it would be fortunate if she didn't cry out of fear. Sending so many to deal with her seemed like overkill.

However, they did not realize that the girl before them was not some delicate maiden they could trample over but a goddess of death who emerged from a sea of corpses.

Facing the tide of soldiers rushing toward her, she stepped lightly as if walking on clouds, graceful and nimble.

Suddenly, the corners of Kaguya's mouth curved into a smile, like flowers in full bloom. Her arm, as smooth as jade, swung, and a flash of her sharp sword gleamed coldly.

Blood spurted, flesh and limbs flew.

The large group of foreign soldiers had not yet approached Kaguya before their heads, under a single cold flash, were severed, and their heads spun into the air, while foul-smelling blood shot up, scattering into a mist.

The soldiers had no time to react, not even realizing what had happened before they became ghosts under the princess's blade.

The sword light poured down like moonlight, flowing like autumn water. Kaguya's figure was graceful and elegant, her robes fluttering in the wind, as if she was dancing. Around her, the blood sprayed like mist, falling gently like fine spring rain. Amidst the bloody storm, there was an indescribable, eerie beauty.

Seemingly driven by bloodlust, under Kaguya's ruthless slaughter, the assault from the Northern Tribes not only did not wane but became even more frenzied. Like madmen, they charged with red eyes, teeth gritted, roaring as they rushed forward.

But the gap in strength is not something that can be bridged by madness and anger. Before Kaguya, the soldiers had no strength in numbers. With each wave of her hand, several soldiers were decapitated, turning into ghosts under her sword.

Gradually, the bodies around Kaguya piled up like a small mountain. Severed limbs and blood soaked the ground, and the stench of blood filled the air.

Finally, seemingly growing impatient, Kaguya frowned slightly. With a swift swing of her pale arm, amidst a piercing whistling sound, a cold gleam swept out, spanning tens of meters, flashing like a white ribbon.

"Puff."

Blood splattered everywhere.

Within tens of meters around Kaguya, the soldiers froze as if they had been hit with a spell. They stood motionless like statues. As those behind them looked on in confusion, a gentle autumn breeze blew, and a red line appeared across their chests. In a spray of blood, their bodies split in half.

The more perceptive soldiers dropped their weapons and turned to flee, but it was futile. In the instant they turned, a cold gleam flashed across them. Amidst the spraying blood, they were cut in two, their upper halves rising into the air before crashing to the ground, their screams abruptly cut off.

At this moment, everyone realized that Kaguya was unharmed, not even stained with a drop of blood, and still appeared as pristine as before.

Mayor Eric's face grew increasingly dark, almost dripping with water. His eyes, filled with malice, were fixed on Kaguya, who was walking leisurely among the crowd. He turned to Ted and said coldly, "Why aren't they going up faster? Are you all useless?"

Ted's expression showed displeasure. He frowned but did not retort. He placed his fingers to his lips and blew a sharp whistle.

Hearing the whistle, the Northern Tribesmen intensified their assault, but their momentum was far less than before. Seemingly intimidated by Kaguya's aura, the soldiers hesitated, faces devoid of the initial fervor, replaced by deep fear.

At this point, Kaguya had already slain over a thousand men.

Thousands of corpses piled together like a small mountain, the blood flowing like a stream. This thick, heavy shade of red inspired fear, as if the person before them wasn't a beautiful woman but a reaper of souls.

Ted's face showed anger. He had brought over five thousand soldiers this time, originally to serve as the vanguard against the Empire. Misled by the words of that fat fool, Eric, he lost so many of his finest soldiers.

This was no frail girl, but a formidable opponent.

Anger flared within him. These men were his lifeblood, his foundation. With them, he held power. If his strength were significantly reduced, he could be devoured whole when he returned north.

Yet, he was reluctant to retreat now, having lost so many and gained nothing. It was unacceptable. His only recourse was to quickly kill this so-called princess, to recoup his losses.

With this thought, Ted could no longer hold back. He let out a long howl, stepped forward like a giant bird, and swung his massive axe toward Kaguya in the crowd.

Kaguya, having anticipated this, turned and smiled, "Finally can't hold back, can you?"

The swung axe came down fiercely upon Kaguya, Ted's move as powerful as a meteor falling from the sky.

"Clang," a crisp sound echoed.

Ted's eyes widened in disbelief. The girl before him had blocked his powerful strike with a casual swing of her sword. Not only that, but the immense force within her strike left him surprised, even making his hands tingle slightly.

Ted's heart sank. This girl was far from ordinary. Eric had deceived him, but he had no time to curse Eric, as Kaguya's attack was relentless.

"Clang, clang, clang."

The air was filled with cold light and slicing winds.

Under Kaguya's relentless, fierce assault, Ted quickly fell into a defensive position, barely able to defend himself. He realized that the strength of the silver-haired girl before him far exceeded his expectations.

He found it hard to believe that such a young girl possessed such terrifying power.
