Amane and Arisa
After purchasing the leather armor, I returned to the janitor's shed.
"Since my magic level has increased, maybe I can learn a new spell."
I activated the 'Self-Analyze' spell to check my magic level. Information appeared in my mind.

My Life Magic had reached Magic Level 5, and my Magical Gear Magic was at Magic Level 1. The magic I intended to learn was Magical Gear Magic.
I took out a textbook titled "Basics of Magical Gear Magic" from under my bed. It was left behind by a graduate, probably someone who was both wealthy and without talent in Magical Gear Magic.
The textbook still contained all the magic circles. The graduate who forgot it must have been wealthy but untalented in Magical Gear Magic.
I checked the textbook. There were only two magic circles depicted for spells that could be learned at Magic Level 1.
One was 'Damage Cover', which covers the entire body with a membrane of magic to reduce damage. The other was 'Power Assist', which also covers the entire body with a magic membrane but enhances physical movement.
"Hmm... Which should I choose? I've heard that the defensive power of 'Damage Cover' is rather weak, so I'll go with 'Power Assist'."
The duration of 'Power Assist' is about three minutes, which should be enough time to defeat a monster. I decided to learn the 'Power Assist' spell.
The problem was the time it would take to learn it. My talent in Magical Gear Magic is 'E'. It would probably take about ten days to master. I wouldn't be able to make it in time for the drill in five days.
Even so, I decided to start learning it. It would surely be useful. From that day on, it became a habit to stare at the 'Power Assist' magic circle before going to bed.
The day before the drill, after finishing the Life Magic class, Amane and Alisa called out to me as I was about to leave the classroom.
"Mr. Grimm, we learned the Life Magic spell 'Push'. Please teach us the advanced techniques."
"I learned it too."
I was a bit surprised. I didn't expect any students to actually learn it.
"Alright, I did promise to teach you the advanced techniques. Come to the training ground after school."
They nodded at my words.
After school, I went to the training ground. Amane and Alisa were waiting there.
"Did I keep you waiting?"
"No, we just got here too."
I looked around the training ground. There were four sections, each about the size of a tennis court, and each one was surrounded by high walls.
We entered one of these sections and went to the area where sandbags and logs were placed. I stacked the sandbags to waist height in the center of the section and then placed a log horizontally on top of them. The log was about twenty centimeters in diameter at the thin end and one meter long, weighing around twenty kilograms.
I instructed them to attack the log, imagining it was a monster, using 'Push'.
"Got it. I'll go first."
Alisa stepped forward and activated 'Push'. A D-particle plate formed in front of her and thrust forward.
The log moved about ten centimeters, and the D-particle plate dissipated.
"How's that? I mastered it properly, right?"
I nodded.
Amane had also mastered it. She moved the log about ten centimeters and then turned to me.
"So, Mr. Grimm, what are the advanced techniques?"
After teaching them a few combat techniques using Life Magic, I started talking about multi-activation.
"The characteristic of Life Magic is in its multi-activation. As the magic level of Life Magic increases, you can activate multiple spells at the same time up to the number of your level. Did you know that?"
They nodded.
"By stacking the same Life Magic spell, you can increase its power. I'll now demonstrate a triple-activation 'Triple Push'."
I aimed a Triple Push at the log. The three-layered D-particle plate rushed at high speed and hit the log. The log flew seven meters, hit the wall, and bounced back.
"No way...""Amazing..."
They seemed surprised.
"As your magic levels increase, you will be able to do this too. If I remember correctly, your magic talent ranks are quite high. You'll be able to do it soon."
As the instructor for Life Magic, I knew their magic talent ranks. Amane was 'C' and Alisa was 'B'.
Although their magic levels might still be low due to their limited experience in dungeons, with a few more drills, they would likely reach Magic Level 3 quickly.
"Mr. Grimm, is it possible to defeat monsters with Life Magic?"
Alisa asked with a somewhat desperate look.
"It's difficult to finish them off with just Life Magic, but you can defeat them by combining it with weapons."
Alisa looked a bit disappointed.
"Is that not good enough?"
"I'm not good at physical activities, so I'm not sure if I can defeat monsters with weapons."
Alisa's magic talents were only high in Life Magic and Analysis Magic. Since Analysis Magic couldn't be used to attack monsters, she was in trouble if she couldn't defeat them with Life Magic.
I understood her situation.
"What about using a crossbow or a bow?"
"I was told I have no talent for them."
Once she becomes an adult, she can purchase a gun, but for now, she has to rely on magic.
"I'll look into it."
"Can you really defeat monsters with just Life Magic?"
I nodded, brought back the log, and placed it on the sandbags again.
"What I'm about to show you is a secret."
I activated 'Blade' with a five-layer activation aimed at the log. The V-shaped plate slashed through the air and cut the log in half.
Both of them stared wide-eyed in shock. They didn't seem to understand what had just happened. After a while, Amane was the first to speak.
"Mr. Grimm, wasn't that attack magic?"
"It's Life Magic. It's also my trump card."
Although I called it a trump card, I never intended to keep the spell a permanent secret. The real secret was the magic circle needed to learn the spell, not the spell itself.
