In this world, Arvelra, the Phantom War is not the only daunting problem the people face. In fact most people believe the rise of the venators started much before the phantom war in order to help civilization counter a different foe, Phantom Beasts, or simply Beasts for short.

Beasts are unlike other race. Most of them are not sentinel, the majority of them being extremely violent without cause. They bring destruction and ruin to anything they lay their hands on leaving destruction in their wake.

Only a few of such beasts have been shown to be capable of living alongside people.

Beasts were terrible entities, considering that a highly ranked beast could easily wipe out a squad of venators within seconds. But that alone was not the only issue with them, the crippling issues with beasts are the portals…
