A Taste of Change

Hirvan went back to his room, desperately hoping sleep would finally quiet his mind.

His body felt as heavy as lead, utterly exhausted from the day's chaos. Yet his mind was relentless, replaying Lu Hanbing's words like a broken tape. He lay down, attempting to force himself into sleep, but it was no use. He turned from one side to the other, wrestling with his blankets. Eventually, in a moment of frustration, he threw the blanket aside and sat up, his face twisted with irritation.

He'd always seen himself as the mature one, the calm presence who tolerated Lu Hanbing's craziness and dramatics. But now he suddenly realised it was the opposite.

He had been the one behaving foolishly, while Lu Hanbing had adapted, even changed, because of him.

'No, that can't be right. He has to be as much of a lunatic as he seems. Who would go to such lengths, to do all that shit, instead of just talking things out?'
