After her evening classes, Natalie and Allison walked out of their building, heading towards the gate. As soon as Mr. Quinn spotted them, he immediately hid himself before he would be seen by either of them.
The girls passed him without sighting him. When they were out of sight, Mr. Quinn heaved a sigh of relief. But it was immediately replaced with worry when his eyes settled on their backs.
Allison wasn't going home alone. Natalie was right beside her which could cause a problem once the collector came to take the girl away.
If Natalie is still by her side at that time, she could raise an alarm, which could cause a problem, not only for him but also for the collector. Which would definitely—without a doubt—land him in trouble.
Mr. Quinn's worry deepened as his mind raced through so many thoughts all at once.
