begged me not to hurt them

A few seconds ago…

"Miss, the ambulance is already on the way," said the staff to Grace. "They told us not to move her until they arrive."

"How long will they take to get here?"

"Three minutes… that's what they said." The staff nervously clasped her hands, gazing at the unconscious Penny before Grace. 

Grace ground her teeth briefly, huffing as she nodded. "Three minutes," she murmured. "No more than that. Do you understand?"

"Yes." 

"It's my fault…" Nina teared up in distress, touching her head as she didn't know what to do or how to feel. Everything happened so fast that no one was able to grasp the situation until the aftermath. She wiped her eyes with her arm, sniffling as she held onto Penny's hand.
