"That Mr. Pierson he mentioned... is Zoren Pierson."
Nina's expression grew solemn as she squeezed Penny's hand tighter. Penny furrowed her brows in confusion.
"Penny, I know this sounds unbelievable, but it's true!" Nina exclaimed before Penny could respond. "When Aunt Jessa slipped and mentioned your husband's name, I was surprised. After all, I know that Patricia and Zoren Pierson were in a relationship."
She paused, staring at Penny's shocked face. "The Pierson family is big, but I'm sure it's Zoren Pierson."
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to tell you this, but after hearing the clerk again and seeing that black card, I'm certain. That Mr. Pierson isn't just any other member of the Pierson family—he's the head of the family," Nina continued. "That's why Mrs. Miller and Patricia acted that way. They expect Mr. Pierson to propose to her, with all the gifts he's sent her. Most shops already know about them."
