How does Mr. Fool feel right now? Probably something like this: "I knew that this little partner was outrageous, but I never expected them to be this outrageous. Is this even reasonable?!"
Klein felt it wasn't reasonable, but unfortunately, the facts were almost laid out before him, leaving Mr. Fool with no choice but to admit it.
So, besides the shock, Klein couldn't help but think about another question: If Lynn from different eras could communicate and had connections, then what about the Lynn in front of him?
Whether it's Lynn's behavior all along or the contents of the diary he just read, they all undeniably point to one fact: Lynn does not possess the ability to communicate with himself from different eras. At least from the analysis of this diary from the Fourth Epoch, the Lynn of that era could only communicate with the Angel of Secrets.
This seems like a flaw, but combined with the information that the Angel of Secrets has revealed all along, Klein feels that rather than saying his little partner can't communicate with other versions of himself from different eras due to a flaw, it's more like it was done intentionally.
Just as Lynn lacked power and had to start walking the path of God all over again, Klein knew this Lynn was special. It seemed as though he represented the human side of that past Lynn, who was referred to as the foundation of everything by the Angel of Secrets.
So, Lynn's lack of ability to communicate with himself from different eras is probably related to his need to rewalk the divine pathway, based on some kind of necessity, some rigid condition.
'But why is that...' Klein muttered in his heart and recalled the information Mr. Door had once revealed, as well as his own speculation that something had happened to Lynn, causing him to lose himself if he continued to possess power. Thus, he had no choice but to temporarily sever his power and a portion of his soul, splitting himself into two.
'And is this power even reasonable? Is this really power that the Beyonder pathway can bring...' A deep doubt arose in Klein's heart.
Klein was no longer the naive novice who only had a rudimentary understanding of the Beyonder pathways. After being tutored by Mr. Door, Klein had learned a lot about high-sequence abilities of the pathways, and he was very certain that none of these abilities were so overpowering.
'Maybe Mr. Door knows something...' Klein thought of Mr. Door, who was clearly aware of this, and made up his mind to ask him later. He then put down the diary with a calm expression and said, "You may proceed with your trade."
As soon as these words were spoken, the Tarot Club was still quiet, mainly because everyone was still immersed in the previous topic, digesting the shocking revelations shared by Little Sun.
Lynn, however, thoughtfully glanced at Mr. Fool. Although Mr. Fool concealed it well, to the point where even the observant Miss Justice beside him couldn't tell, Lynn, as someone who was far more unreasonable in reading minds, still keenly sensed that Mr. Fool's mood wasn't particularly calm.
'Could it be that he read something explosive in the diary?'
Lynn speculated with interest, recalling the diaries he had released that contained significant information, and finally settled on a target.
'Could it be the one that revealed I can communicate with myself from different eras?' Lynn guessed in his heart. That diary was deliberately written by him, with no other reason than to serve as a misdirection.
Mr. Fool would eventually learn that Lynn existed simultaneously across multiple eras and could alter past history. After all, too many people knew about this. When too many people know a secret, it ceases to be a secret.
So, from the very beginning, He had been planning how to smoothly let Mr. Fool learn this "truth." The diary mentioning communication was one of his setups.
He didn't mind Mr. Fool knowing that he could communicate with himself from different eras, or knowing that the same person existed in different timeframes. The only thing Lynn wanted to mislead Mr. Fool about was one thing: that Lynn Sotos was still completely unaware of this.
In Lynn Sotos' script, he didn't have the ability to communicate with his past self. In this era, due to the split and the ritual, the person who could communicate with other eras was the Angel of Secrets. Lynn Sotos could at most occasionally receive some memories and emotions.
This wasn't just a script to mislead Klein alone; in fact, aside from Medici, who knew the truth, this was the script Lynn had set up for everyone else as well.
The reason Lynn did this was partly to prevent a future "friendly punch in the face" from a certain Lord of Mysteries, and partly as an obvious weakness to give surprises to beings like Amon. "You think the human side knows nothing, has no power, is easy to deceive, and easy to bully? Haha, fooled you!"
Moreover, the human side could also serve some special purposes, such as letting the human side interact with the gods. For instance, even old hands like the Evernight Goddess, who might have doubts, would inevitably categorize the human side as the weaker side in their hearts, helping him to moderate his image.
Being overly strong isn't always a good thing.
Precisely because of these many roles, even though it initially started out of mischief, Lynn had now added bricks and mortar to this persona, solidifying it.
'If Klein really guesses that I can establish communication and sensory exchange with myself from different eras, then I can gradually reveal more information to him...'
Lynn muttered in his heart, but on the surface, he remained completely unaware, as if nothing had happened. He even remembered the official business to attend to at this Tarot Club meeting. Raising his hand, he said, "Mr. Fool, I want to conduct a private transaction with Miss Justice."
Hearing this, Klein glanced at him, then calmly nodded and isolated the others.
"Mr. Pope, what do you want to trade with me?" Miss Justice asked Lynn with some curiosity.
"Miss Justice, do you know about the Aurora Order?" Lynn didn't intend to beat around the bush and asked directly.
"The Aurora Order... I have some understanding of the Aurora Order. I know that its members believe in the True Creator and I have had contact with some members of the Aurora Order."
Miss Justice, Audrey, paused here, recalling her contact with a certain individual suspected to be associated with Mr. Pope during Mr. A's gathering. After a moment of subtle expression, she continued, "For example, Mr. A of the Aurora Order. I have seen him before, but we are not familiar."
Miss Justice wasn't worried that the Pope would guess her identity based on her words because she felt that Mr. Pope had probably already figured it out.
It was inevitable. Her various characteristics were too obvious, from her hair color, eye color, to her noble status, and even Miss Xio had mentioned the Fool's name in front of the Pope, which had practically made their identities open secrets.
But even so, they had never explicitly revealed each other's identities, a kind of unspoken agreement.
