Chapter Eighty Nine

Ryan arrived at Count Edmund's manor, his heart filled with anticipation of seeing Suzy. He had been away for a few days, and he was eager to reunite with her.

He sent Davis to fetch Doris, his mind already picturing the moment he would see Suzy. He imagined her smile, her laughter, and the warmth of her presence.

Davis knocked on Suzy's door, and after a moment, Doris opened it. Her face, usually filled with warmth, was now etched with a look of surprise.

"His Grace is here," Davis said, his voice low. " He requests your presence."

Doris nodded, her mind racing. Why is the Duke here and of all time for him to come and pick his wife, he had to come now that she's not at home. 

"I'll be right there," she replied, her voice steady.
