Assassination (3)

"Pu!" The assassin allowed the body of the knight to fall down slowly and he spat on it. Even if it was still drizzling, the assassin remained meticulous in his ways. He didn't dare to leave a flaw behind him on this mission.

'At last. I have found the invisible claddings.' The assassin smiled before he quickly removed the knight's armour, helm and boots from his dead body and then he cladded into them. After that, he took his tattered clothing and the spike that he laid in the ground and together with the body of the knight, he pulled them from the pavement of the wall of the warehouse and continued to he pull them towards the marshy land.

"Kiril! Are you there? You need to rest. Let me take over from here." A voice was heard coming towards the assassin's way but he didn't panic.

It seemed the person that the assassin had killed was called Kiril.

The assassin quickly pushed Kiril's dead body further into the marsh where there was a ditch filled with stagnant water and then he pushed be body inside and let it to sink a little because the ditch was not that deep. Moreover, he also threw his muddy tattered clothing and the spike into the ditch.

Leaving Kiril's body there, the assassin walked steadily to Kiril's allocated post and saw that there was another knight coming his way, this was the person that had called Kiril's name.

The assassin walked towards him but he didn't allow this new knight to see his face, he veiled it by placing his palm in a tilt position around his glabella and with the night darkness helping him, he pretended to be wiping his forehead from the raindrops that had poured on his face.

"I am so sorry Kiril... It took me much longer to swipe with you. You know, I slept for longer than expected and forgot that I am supposed to be on duty. I will give you a favour another time... You are my friend, right? Don't be so mad at me... I understand the situation but this is also a chance for you to train your body. Cheer up buddy! Look at the positive side of it, you are the one that should be paying me for allowing you to enjoy patrolling here for long at this eerily darkness. It is good for training you to be much tenacious, right?..."

The new knight went on and on, encouraging his fellow while patting his shoulder but strangely, his fellow didn't say a word or allowed his face to be seen.

At last, the assassin couldn't take it anymore and he patted the knight' s shoulder before walking past him.

"Kiril is so strange today... He hasn't answered any of my questions. Kiril is never like that, he would have laughed like a fool and thank me for allowing him to train his body in this unfavorable weather for a long time and then he would promise to give me some gold coins for the favour that I did to him... But today, Kiril had been strangely quite. Wait! Why had Kiril grown so robust all of a sudden? Even if Kiril was muscular, he was never that huge... Urrgh! Fuck! What am I thinking? I must be seeing stuffs. I heard this area of Pollow is cursed because many innocent people were buried here, maybe it is them who are fucking with my view and thinking. It can be that Kiril is just tired and too drowsy in that he didn't have the energy to talk to me. Anyway... That is not for me to hurt my brain just to normalize issues, I should be thinking of how I am gonnna survive in this cold and harsh weather until daytime... Those fools have refused to accompany me here. Damn them!" The knight squatted down and supported his head with the palms of his hands and he could be seen closing and opening his eyes from time to time.

On the other hand, it was easy for the assassin to pass by several patrolling knights. There were some who wanted to tell him stories and ask him questions but he only patted their shoulders and without panicking, he continued to walk forward. That was until he reached at the huge door of the warehouse, here, he saw the overly huge turbine that was moving slowly as it was being propelled by the wind and the little showers.
