The news

"My apologies for the mess. You can have this to repair your furnitures. Thanks for the information." Maki got up from her seat. An unconscious body of a large man lied on the ground besides her.

Getting out of the bar she made a beeline towards the gold exchange centre in the island.

It was situated near a well populated area of the island near the factory.

"What do you want ?" A bruly man who was guarding the gate, confronted Maki.

"I am here to exchange some gold." Maki told the man.

"Oh sorry to be rude. Come inside. Take the second door in the left. That's the managers office." The man politely said when he saw the glimpse of the gold in the box.

Maki enter the building. After reaching the designated room she found a man whose face looked like a cunning fox.

"Welcome dear customer. How can I help you ?"

"I am here to exchange some gold." Maki said putting the box of gold coins and gold bricks on the table.

After seeing the gold, his eyes shone, full of greed.

He took a peace of brick and started inspecting it. His eyes widened in disbelief.

"This...This is the purest quality of gold you can get in these seas ! Only royals and nobles got these kind of golds !" The fox like man said in surprise.

"Well, they were nobles alright... But at the end of the day nothing more than pigs for slaughter. Anyway if this is the highest quality of gold, then its price should be higher than the normal gold right ?" Maki asked.

"Ofcourse ! Ofcourse ! It is 40000 berries per hundread grams." The foxy man replied.

"I told you to tell me the right price." Maki looked at his forehead. The death stare immediately worked as the foxy man started to sweat heavily.

"60000 berries ! That's the maximum I can give you even if it is the highest quality of the gold !" The foxy man said hurriedly.

"80000"

"Please try to understand. This is stolen or looted treasure ! I can't give you the full price when I have to pay the marines bribes ! So 65000 ! That's the maximum I can give you !" The foxy man was scared out of his life.

"Deal." Maki agreed.

There were total 6.1 kgs of gold. So she got around 3.96 millions berries. After getting the money she moved out to get other necessary items for her travel.

The first thing I bought after getting the money was a bag big enough to carry all my things. While I have a feeling that I can open portals in my shadow world wherever I like, I haven't successfully achieved it yet. So my best bet for now would be carrying all my things in a bag. After getting a bag I got some necessary things like a compass some maps and a few sea charts of the west blue along with a telescope and a sword.

Finally I bought a couple of outfits and a few snacks to eat. At the end I was left with more than three millions and fourty thousands berries. While returning from the town I bought a newspaper and went back to the beach. I will be more comfortable in the beach rather than a stinky motel.

I return to the spot where I had left Astrid. But this time I didn't found her.

Sighing to myself, I searched for a safe place to keep my items. Fortunately I found a small cave pretty quickly.

After arranging my things, I found a good place outside the cave and opened the newspaper to read.

In this era there is no big news Morgan. So there is no daily newspaper. The only thing that is considered as a legal newspaper is 'the world government times'. It was a weekly newspaper published directly by the world government. It was the only source of information for the people around the world. As the name suggest I guess all the news in the newspaper is controlled by the world government. And this time there is a special edition tag on the newspaper I have bought.

Opening the newspaper the first headline I read was- "Rise and Fall of the Demon king !"

The title was pretty fancy. The only reason I bought this newspaper with an unreasonable five thousand berries is the hot topic the people were discussing about.

"Demon king huh ?" Zooming through the entire page I found that the news was about me.

They were portraying me as the demon king. And I hole heartedly agree with it.

Obviously the story was written in such a way that they will be considered as Heroes trying to save a nation that is unaffiliated with them, but suffered havily due to a certain demon king.

They even got a rough sketch of mine printed on the newspaper. Although they have drawn me as a male, I didn't care.

The story could have been really entertaining if they would haven't censored it so much.

1398 February 15th;

The Ship of the world nobles reached the kingdom of Fagistaa to complete a diplomatic mission. The kingdom of Fagistaa had finally decided to join the world government. And with the approval of the world government, it officially became Government affiliated nation. In order to pay the first heavenly tribute and to sign some of the treaties, with the invitation of the king of Fagistaa Kingdom, the world nobles had decided to visit the island in the west blue. So many world nobles accompanied by one of the five elders, Saint Topman Warcury, reached the Fagistaa island.

But a great day immediately turned into the darkest day of the year, when an unknown pirate suddenly attacked the Fagistaa island."

I was really impressed how shameless those Gods were. They turned a man hunting event to a sunshine and rainbow welcome event.

But what shocked me the most was the end of the story.

"Atlast after a devastating battle, which made the entire Island of Fagistaa to sink into the ocean, admiral Aotanuki along with 4 other vice admirals finally managed to kill the demon king, ending his tyranny from the face of the world. Of course it wasn't without price. To defeat such a powerful individual they have to pay with their own lives."

They have declared me dead.
