Chapter 287: The Unreachable Dream

Andy: "..."

Hermione looked at Andy with odd eyes, "Andy, you asked her away."

"You asked too." Andy didn't want to take the blame.

Hermione raised her chin proudly, "But she answered my question. We now know that the creator of the Room of Requirement is Lady Ravenclaw."

Andy threw up his hands in surrender.

"Actually, I pretty much have the answer to my question."

Andy analysed, "All four of the founders should have had a secret passed down to them, but that secret doesn't always have to be a room."

Hermione asked curiously, "Andy, are you going to investigate these secrets?"

"Let's investigate if there are clues, if not, let's forget about it." Andy already had a full schedule for the coming period of time and wasn't interested in adding a new job for himself.

Learning magic was the top priority, Andy didn't want to give up in the end.

Moreover, there were no clues at all about the secrets of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, even if they were investigated, they would still be clueless.

***

After reading a book in the library and waiting until it was late at night, Andy and Hermione left the Ravenclaw common room silently.

In front of the wall of the Room of Requirement.

Hermione asked with a raised eyebrow, "Are you gonna do it or should I?"

"I'll do it!" Andy said.

Hermione nodded and then stepped back to avoid interfering with the Room of Requirement, taking in information from the outside world.

'I want to enter the most original room of the Room of Requirement!'

Andy passed back and forth through the corridor three times, and the door to the Room of Requirement slowly appeared.

"It's appearing!" Hermione exclaimed, a look of excitement spreading all over her small face.

They were about to uncover the true secret of the Room of Requirement.

Andy pushed open the door to the Room of Requirement and walked in with Hermione.

"Is this what the Room of Requirement looked like in the beginning?" Hermione looked around, her tone unable to convey whether she was surprised or disappointed.

It looked like a combination of a study and an office, a few bookshelves, a chair, and a desk, and the decorations of the room were very ornate, with many delicate ornaments.

But these things didn't adhere to the so-called 'big secret' at all.

"I do think that the place where Lady Ravenclaw studies magic should be just like this."

Andy touched the bookshelves built along the wall and said in a calm tone, "Actually, from the stairs in the castle, and the way the Room of Requirement appeared, Lady Ravenclaw's character seems to be a bit ... mischievous?"

"She may be a very playful person, but when she's alone, what she craves most should be silence!"

Hermione shot Andy a blank look at that.

Mischievous?

Hermione would never admit that this was Lady Ravenclaw's character.

How could a witch that great be someone with a mischievous personality?

"I think this could be a test that Lady Ravenclaw has left for us, just like the stairs of the castle, and the Room of Requirement, we have to use our wits to discover the truth," Hermione said in a firm tone.

Andy swept his eyes over the books on the shelf before casually pulling one out and leafing through it.

"Do you know... Lady Ravenclaw died of an illness." Andy said as he flipped through the book.

"Hmm…! I read that in a book." Hermione nodded her head while looking at Andy quizzically.

Andy handed the book in his hand to Hermione and signalled for her to read it.

Hermione took the book with a curious face, and after casually flipping through a few pages, she queried, "This is a book of poetry and prose?"

Andy nodded, "It's easy to die young if you're overly smart!"

The world's impression of Lady Ravenclaw was almost always beautiful, intelligent, full of wisdom and so on.

It was also recorded in the book: a smile of banter on her face was beautiful but somewhat intimidating.

Banter was not that complimentary word.

"Haven't you noticed? There's actually something contradictory about the Lady Ravenclaw we know, and some of the things she does." Andy's tone was a little complicated.

Hermione thought about it for a moment, and it seemed to be true.

It seemed unlikely that a woman who was beautiful, intelligent, prideful, and even a little intimidating would have designed the staircase of the castle to look like that.

The books had never mentioned the word 'amiable' in regard to Lady Ravenclaw.

Of course, the books weren't always right.

"What did you find out?" Hermione asked, looking at Andy.

Andy spread his hands and said, "I think ... Lady Ravenclaw was probably depressed."

Hermione: "..."

"Andy, the more you talk, the more you go overboard!" Hermione looked at Andy with a serious face.

As a student of Ravenclaw House, Hermione had great reverence for the founder of the house.

"Lady Ravenclaw has an extremely high pursuit for magic,"

Andy said calmly, "But she is too smart, she wants to realise her dream through trickery, but a fake is a fake after all."

"There's no way she can accept this reality!"

There was no doubt that Lady Ravenclaw pursued the realm of being able to achieve what her heart desired.

But in a state of stabilised magic, the wish to fulfil one's desires was just a far-fetched dream, and no one could achieve it.

So Lady Ravenclaw took another route, she wanted to achieve the same thing through other methods.

Namely, combining magic!

But smart people, you know, they tend to think a lot, they know a lot, they want to pursue a lot of things, and they have a very high demand for quality.

It's a kind of mental torture.

On top of that, the fervent pursuit of magic had caused Lady Ravenclaw to neglect her daughter. When her daughter stole her diadem, it was the last straw that broke the Ravenclaw's heart.

A lifetime of chasing a dream in a mirror, and when you look back, you realise that you have neglected the most important person in your life.

This is undoubtedly a tragedy.

After listening to Andy's explanation, Hermione fell silent.

Although these were all just Andy's guesses, the so-called evidence was all far-fetched things. But inexplicably, Hermione felt that this might be the truth behind Lady Ravenclaw.

Otherwise, Lady Ravenclaw wouldn't have died young.

"What about you? Andy?"

Hermione suddenly asked, "It seems to me that the dreams you want to chase are much more out of reach than Lady Ravenclaw's."

"Me?"

Andy laughed, "I would cheat!"

Although, Andy's cheat wasn't particularly awesome, and belonged to the lowest rank amongst a group of travellers. But those five attributes on the right side of the system could definitely change Andy's future.

Magic, soul, thinking, mind, and will!

These five attributes were definitely much more important than the five talents on the left side of the system.

This was the core of the plug-in!

Without continuing this topic, Andy proceeded to say: "Let's check this room! Look for out-of-print magic books, or manuscripts, or something like that."
