I and Blake said in unison .

"Yes , the ball"

"Yea, it was actually nothing"

We said again at the same time and both groaned.

"Even if there was no suspicion in my mind earlier. This behaviour is highly suspicious. You guys don't even know what you were talking about? Do you see how that looks suspicious?"

Asher asked while we just kept silent not saying anything to him. He peered at us, moving from me to Blake and back to Blake.

"Ahh yes, mum is calling me. I should go answer her"

Blake said scurrying away and leaving me to face Asher all alone.

"So??" I began …

Asher's expression was unchanging, so I smiled sheepishly

"Not helping?"

I asked him and he shook his head.

"We were not actually talking about anything of importance. I just asked him how he felt about me being a part of his family . Yunno, all those mushy stuff. That is all. He is a really great person"
