The System's Actual Functions?

An intermediate chapter to transition from NSFW chap to the continuation of the story for Silviana

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Waking next to the resplendent form of my Goddess wife I couldn't help a smile coming to my face. The night had been wonderful and besides that, I had healed my vision. This regeneration did come at a price though... Around 500 years, paradoxically, spent within a spiritual space forged by my connection to the domain of dreams and the realm of time; otherwise known as the Liminal Space.

My goddess of a wife was currently 'sleeping', her consciousness currently working away within her divine domain to ferry the souls away to the afterlife. Her work was cut out for her now, given the freedom that she had agreed to give Vax'ildan. My eyes scanned the room noting the vibrant light of Pelor and the smallest of details on each of the curtains. Furniture was more in-depth for me and I could tell down to the tinniest atom whether it was perfectly made or simply just worked upon until it got to a modicum of reliability. I even noted a strange symbol on the bottom of one chair 'CPOP'... A strange finding...

Shaking myself from my musings I gazed out the window, noticing a growing haze of purple and blue that manifested as torrents or waves in the air. Magic. Leylines were grown and fostered on this planet, linked to it, and growing from it. Each one held the influence of the Arch-heart, my weird brother who seemed to be obsessed with making everything beautiful in some way. Going from one muse to another I could not help but slowly interact with this web of magic, toying with it, playing with it, shaping it... It was superior to Magicules in power and complexity. Each particle or quark of this magic was almost alive, independent, thoughtful. Specific guidance was required to harness it and guide it. No doubt this the reason for the complexity of magic within Exandria, the almost prodigal level of intelligence required to wield this power without surrendering to powers beyond oneself or just intrinsically having the power within ancient bloodlines.

~Hello sister. Good to see that you have cured your blindness! Please let me know If I can help in some way.~

'Haha, Archy, don't worry about me... There is not much I desire from you.'

~That means there is something...!~

His voice shifted to an almost coy but jovial tone as I could almost envisage the large charismatic smile on his goofy face.

"Fine! Fine... I wasn't going to ask until I had proposed to my other wives, but..."

~You want me to make rings? Yes!?~

Excitement filled his vocality as the magic stirred almost omnipresently, some distant shouts showing what Clerics and other magical peoples were thinking of such a sudden shift; not that he cared.

"Yes..."

~Wonderful! I'll get back to you as soon as possible, must get your ideas!!!~

His voice cut out as a creeping suspicion, that he was about to go and tell everyone in the pantheon about this event, crawled up the back of my spine. 'Mothers, please help me... My siblings are too chaotic...'

No words were given back to me, but, there was a movement from my System. The visual display was back for me as I could see the glowing text that had just manifested. To say I was shocked would be an understatement.

The list of things for me to do was long... But the rewards were just as powerful. Gate of Babylon itself was almost mind-bendingly powerful in most circumstances. Arc of Embodiment was just an extension of my current capabilities, most likely geared more towards making my intent more affective on bending the rules of Essences and Concepts. The Second Magic was insane considering the connection I already held with time... Being bale to make parallel times to search and discover information from omnisciently would be very powerful. The Fifth Magic was just as crazy as the second, effectively letting me have a more robust control over time in my presence. Fractal Sovereignty was an unknown to me, the same for the Dream Stone and the awakening of a 'Persona'.

Searching my mind databank of knowledge from Earth I did find a very popular game series that went by 'persona' but whether this was what it was speaking about or not was questionable. The Dream Stone was supposedly from stories of Morpheus, the god of dreams. The One Ring was obvious and made me a touch nervous about how it would interact with my already awakened Blackstar. Apotheosis of Duality was also a random for me... No doubt it would be useful or powerful based on what else was placed among it, but it was hard to get excited about.

All of these missions were simple in a way, things I would do anyway. Some were more erring on the side of telling me what to do, but I figured that it was less of a command and more of a carrot and stick method. If I didn't do these things, that my own subconscious wanted, I wouldn't get the 'shinnies'.

My Raven Queen stirred as a knock hit the door to my inn-room. A feminine voice nervously murmured behind the door only to be followed by a calm masculine one that made everything seem as if it was going to be okay. Narrowing my eyes I could see through the cracks in the door the outlines of a green dress and a raven-feather mantle... Vax'ildan and Keyleth were already here... A good chance to have my lovely wife sit down and have a chat with them both, with me there too of course. The tea was going to be fantastic!

"Mmm, i'll leave you with them Silvi..."

"No you don't, you are going to face this head on, like a badass. Kay?" She rolled her eyes before her body rolled off the side of the bed, her groans eking out soon after as I walked over and began picking her up.

"I can hold you all the way through the talking If you want?" She awoke instantly, her yellow eyes locking onto my face with an 'oh-no-you-don't' expression.

"No!"

"Well then, get changed..."

"Muu, such a buzz kill. Why can't I just bask in the glow of our session...?"

"Because I love you-" I kissed her. "And this is partly a situation of your own making." She groaned laboriously as she began to stand up straight, her clothes merely apparating onto her mortal body. A raven teleported to her shoulder as a white mask began to envelope her face. That was, until I pulled it off and shot her a bewildered look.

"What?"

"No more façade... He is your champion for fucks sakes. And she, well, she is adorable..."

"..."

We stared at each other for a few moments before the mask disappeared and she sat down at the table in the middle of the room. Deciding that I was not being too nice to her as of right now, I created a lovely meal for all of us, focussing on foods I knew she liked from my last life's conversations with her. Bacon, Eggs, Burgers... Yeah, she was a keeper all right. Like that I sat down and twitched my hand, the voices outside slowly getting more distant until the opening of our door stopped their pace.

"Come in." My voice creeped through the hallway towards them as hushed conversation began once again.

"Of for fucks sakes, we're not going to eat you Vax'ildan, Keyleth, just get in here!" Steps proceeded towards the inn-room as my Raven Queen began to pluck at her food disingenuously; attempting to hide the growls of her stomach which saw this food as delicious.

'Time to be the adult I guess...'
