Ch. 39 - The Great Pretender is rich in Reputation Points!

Watching Tai Lung get sent to the Spirit Realm was mind-blowing to Leo. This is the first time he saw a really cool effect happening in front of his eyes.

Leo was also satisfied that the matter of Tai Lung is done. Now, it's time for him to reap the benefits. But first, he must address the current issue he's facing now.

His fame!

As soon as the citizens of the valley came back with the Furious Five, Master Shifu proudly announced that the two Dragon Warriors had successfully defeated the 'evil' Tai Lung, which gave Leo a bunch of notifications from Genesis, all displaying messages about the massive Reputation Points that he was receiving.

According to his observation, this won't be the last time, because as soon as his feats are spread across China, he'll get more and more Reputation Points that he might as well drown on them.

Putting those Reputation Points aside, Leo also received a notification towards the Passive Sub-Quest.

As Tai Lung is considered as a Major Villain, that also means that Leo has just received 5% of Black Panther's template after defeating him.

At the same time, Leo also noticed that there's a completed quest that he forgot to claim.

'Maybe I should've opened it before fighting Tai Lung.' Leo's face grimaced, wanting to slap his forehead for being such an idiot.

'Can I have a character template that gives me a good memory?' Leo continued.

"Dragon Masters." The Furious Five, Tigress, Mantis, Monkey, Viper and Crane all went forward amidst the cheers and claps of the citizens of the valley before bowing their heads.

The citizens then followed suit and bowed their heads out of respect and gratitude for saving their little valley.

Although it was Master Shifu who brought Tai Lung to the spirit world, but6 it was still the combined efforts of Po and Leo that they managed to defeat Tai Lung, letting Master Shifu skadoosh him to the Spirit World.

'Note to self, have Master Shifu teach me the Wushi Finger Hold. It's so useful that Po even managed to use it on General Kai, albeit Po more likely used it to himself.'

"Master...." Po muttered to himself in amazement, not believing that he just turned into a Kung Fu Master that the entire Valley respects, even his idols now respect him.

It's like he's living in the dream and even if it is, he wouldn't want to wake up out of it.

"Congratulations you two. Master." Master Shifu then surprised everyone on the scene when the red panda stepped forward and faced Leo and Po before also bowing his head, something that they have always seen him doing only to Master Oogway.

Leo then once again heard another ping of notification from Genesis, which he guessed is another increase of Reputation Points.

After that event, Leo, Po, Master Shifu and the Furious Five were back to the Jade Palace, staring at the mess that occurred during the fight with Tai Lung.

"We'll have someone repair this all up. Especially the artifacts, the old masters wouldn't like it if they learned that the artifacts they entrusted to us are now broken." Master Shifu said, although most of the owners of the artifacts here are all in the spirit world, but there are still some who are still alive and kicking, protecting their own cities or valleys.

Jade Palace aren't the only ones who have their own territories. Almost every Kung Fu school throughout China is situated in their respective cities or valleys.

"The Urn of Whispering Warriors, it's broken!" Unlike the Furious Five and Leo who reacted normally, Po was the only one who was dramatic upon seeing the broken artifact.

"Po, calm down. I'm sure it could be fixed." Leo patted Po's shoulder and assured him, in the Kung Fu Panda movies, the urn has been destroyed three times, so that means Master Shifu might have some way to bring those 'whispering warriors' back to the urn.

"Leo, come with me. There's something we need to talk about." Leo suddenly heard his name being called by Master Shifu.

"Yes, Master." He replied before following Master Shifu outside the Jade Palace.

"What do you think they're going to talk about?" Monkey whispered to his comrades.

"I don't know. Probably have Leo massage Master Shifu's shoulders. We used to do that to him, right?" Mantis answered while holding himself back from chuckling.

"Funny, Mantis. Remember, we only did that as some form of punishment from Master." Monkey rolled his eyes at his best friend's humor.

"I still find it funny that Master Shifu liked my massage more than you."

"Oh, really? At least I'm not an insect that eats disgusting bugs that he picks up from the ground."

"Well, I hav-."

"Stop it you two!"

"That Kung Fu style that you used. I knew it looked familiar." Back to Master Shifu's quarters, Master Shifu was opening and skimming through several scrolls that he has in his library.

"Here!" Master Shifu then showed the scroll to Leo, who stretched his neck to look.

"Master Armadillo's Armadillo Defence Kung Fu Style?" Leo read out loud before looking at Master Shifu's eyes out of confusion.

"Master Armadillo's defensive Kung Fu style is about absorbing the impact or the force that is thrown at him using his armor plates, reducing the damage that he's receiving. What you just did earlier is like redirecting force where you use the strength of your enemy against them, but the only difference is that you absorbed the impact before redirecting." Master Shifu started blabbering the knowledge he knows towards Kung Fu Styles.

"So....are you saying that the Kung Fu style I showed earlier is never seen before?"

"Yes! It's like a mix of Armadillo's defensive Kung Fu style and the Art of Redirecting Force. A perfect Kung Fu style that mixes defense and offence!"

'Holy shit. I didn't know Master Shifu was such a nerd when it comes to Kung Fu styles.' Leo was stunned.

Realizing that he's starting to look insane, Master Shifu coughed, clearing his throat before fixing himself.

"A-anyways, what I want to say is perhaps, you can jot down the Kung Fu Style that you used so I can store it in my collection of Kung Fu Styles. It doesn't have to be too detailed, it would just serve its purpose as part of my collection." Master Shifu stated.

Meanwhile, Leo was about to answer when a pop-up screen appeared in front of his vision.

"You can refuse if you wan-." Noticing that Leo was quiet, Master Shifu silently sighed to himself, thinking that Leo must've been overwhelmed and would refuse, after all, he's not the only one as there are also several masters that refused to jot down their Kung Fu styles for Master Shifu to collect.

It's quite understandable as the Kung Fu style of a Kung Fu master is what makes them unique. It's like having a nude photo of yourself and now, someone wants to keep your nude photo as part of a collection.

Just before Master Shifu could finish his sentence, he was suddenly interrupted by Leo.

"I'll do it!"

"I understand it's hard, I won't forc- wait what?" Master Shifu's widened in surprise.

"I'll do it. It's not like anyone would be able to learn it." Leo shrugged his shoulders and said, after all, what he's going to write is just a few parts from volume 1, totally useless for someone who wants to learn it.

"Here, a quill and a scroll. You can take a whole day off to write it down. You know where to find me." Master Shifu smiled happily and opened the front door of his quarters so Leo could leave.

Once Leo was back in his room, there was no sign of Po, so Leo listed him off as having fun with the citizens of the Valley.

'I heard they organized a feast for the Dragon Warriors.' Leo said to himself, though he doesn't intend to join the feast as he had something that needed his attention.

The notifications that have been ringing on his head several times earlier.

It is time for him to check it out now, so he mentally opened his status.

It's not like he didn't like it, it's just that the second slot for a template costs 50,000 reputation points. He could've unlocked it by now if only he had 800 more on his reputation points.

'Still, is this the feeling of being rich?' Leo smiled in satisfaction.

Now, it's only a matter of his decision if either he wants to unlock the second slot or the shop function that requires 100,000 reputation points to unlock.
