Azure District

As soon as Xu Feng clicked the logout button, he felt a slight sense of disconnection with the Divine World.

It was a newfound feeling— something he hadn't experienced before.

Upon removing the virtual helmet, Xu Feng wondered if it was due to the baptism effect that made him feel a sense of loss.

After all, being baptized made him feel like he was a part of the Divine World.

And by logging out, he was getting the feeling of being extracted from the world forcefully.

'Hopefully, it's just a one-time thing and not every time.' Xu Feng lamented silently. He did not want to have this kind of weird experience each time he was to log out of the game.

Putting down his virtual helmet, Xu Feng noticed the dorm was empty.

"Seems like everyone else is still in the school competition." He mumbled softly.

Although he had spent quite a long time in the game, the real-world time didn't pass by a lot. It was no exaggeration to say that people could legitimately experience 2 days in the game while the real world had just gone by 1 day.

Of course, the time ratio was still a mystery and experts had tried to rack their brain cells to investigate the phenomenon, only to end up with little to no results.

Thus, it became a norm to expect a virtual reality game to experience time faster than the real world and that people could actually take their time to enjoy the game regardless if they have a job or not.

Looking at his phone which was quite old in model, Xu Feng sighed softly. He was truly one poor bumpkin.

No wonder why he couldn't get any girls in the past when he was in school. It all made perfect sense now.

Sometime later, Xu Feng changed his clothes and left the dorm.

The first essential matter was to get a smartwatch and connect it to his game account.

The smartwatch was equipped with multiple authentication factors and only the owner of it can access any of the functions. Therefore, no one would be worried if their smartwatch was lost or stolen.

After all, they are automatically locked since there was an active sensor detection, as well as security measurement that detects if it was truly the owner or an imposter that was using another means to access it.

This means that even if someone attempts to steal the owner's authentication factors method, they are still unable to access it. Such a method was the latest technology achieved by humankind and not even the developers of such security could access it without the owner's permission.

'I should change my phone as well to the latest version.' Xu Feng thought to himself. Being secured cyberly was an important matter and he did not want to take any chances.

Patiently waiting outside by the school's gate, a car soon arrived in front.

"Hello, are you Xu Feng?" The driver lowered his window slightly and asked, having only spotted Xu Feng at the school's gate.

Xu Feng nodded his head and proceeded to give the pin code to confirm his identity.

Once that was done, he took the passenger's seat and put on his safety belt, he calmly said, "Take me to the Azure District."

"Got it," the driver smiled politely and changed gear, driving straight to the location.

Time slowly passed by, and Xu Feng paid for the fare, giving the driver a generous tip.

"I might call for you again if I'm done with my business." He said.

Having received a generous tip, the driver was naturally pleased and told Xu Feng to call him whenever he needed a lift.

"Youngsters nowadays are really rich." The driver then mumbled, slowly driving away to take on the next order.

As the driver drove away, Xu Feng stood in awe as he surveyed the bustling Azure District.

Known for its wealth and extravagance, this part of the city was where the affluent came to splurge on luxury items.

Boutiques and stores lined the streets, offering everything from high-end fashion to cutting-edge gadgets like smartwatches. It was a place where anything could be bought, but that was only if you had the money to afford it.

After admiring it for a few more seconds, Xu Feng began to walk around, finding the store that had the items he wanted.

Unfortunately, though, he was unfamiliar with this area since he was never here at this time of year.

In the past, he only came here after many years had passed, and by then, lots of things had already changed.

Thus, even though Xu Feng had a recollection of the layout of the Azure District in his mind, there were bound to be some differences. And these differences are quite noticeable at first glance.

The decoration and store names are different, albeit with the same kind of building styles retained.

"Let's see where those high-tech devices are sold," Xu Feng walked near a holographic screen that listed his current location and the stores in the district.

Numerous holographic screens of this were laid out everywhere, ensuring that the customers wouldn't get lost.

'Okay, it's on the upper floor level. Not a surprise since the security must be more strict there, providing greater protection.' He didn't find the arrangement surprising and was about to turn around when he encountered the most cliche scene possible.

A woman suddenly held him by his arm and whispered, "Psst, help me pretend to be a couple first. I'll pay you back some money for the trouble."

'Damn, did I really become a lucky bastard?' Xu Feng's first instinct was to believe himself to become that kind of lucky protagonist who always encountered hot women in every corner.

Alas, he quickly came back to reality when he noticed quite a few uniform-like people rushing down, clearly frantic and anxious.

"How much am I getting paid in return?" Xu Feng kept his distance from her despite the woman latching onto him and instead asked for the price to do the act.
