162 Candles Pt.4

After a quick session of breathing exercises to calm Vicki's mind. We started with the study session, I thought to start with history of vampirism. We made our way to the kitchen cause I was hungry.

Vicki opened her notebook and I got some eggs and bacon out of the fridge and started to make them as I started to teach her, "Most people think that the history of vampirism start from Europe. More specifically from the character of Giure Grando from the region of Istria or Croatia.

But the more commonly known origin is from?" I asked Vicki to keep her interested in the lesson. I placed the bacon on the pan with some water.

"Dracula?" She replied with a nervous expression.

I smiled and nodded, "Yes, Dracula or Vlad Tepes was the man that was most associated with the vampire myth with he had deep rooted impact on the culture and folklore but... that not it either."

She looked confused and asked, "Then who was it?"

I shrugged my shoulders and Vicki kinda snickered and said, "Then what are we doing here? If even you don't know it?"

I looked at her then saw that the bacon was done so I took it out and placed it on a plate , I cracked some egg in the pan to cook with the grease and said, "No one knows exactly where and who it was that started our curse but I know how it started and isn't that important?"

She looked curious and asked ,"How do you know?"

I flipped the eggs and said, "The curse of Vampirism wasn't intended to be a curse." I placed the eggs on the plate and passed it to her. I took a piece of bacon and ate the crispy goodness and started to make more eggs.

"It was ment to be a way to protect the human body from harm to live forever without any fear." Vicki took a bite of the bacon and continued to listen carefully.

"The curse was developed by two witched their name is lost to the world but their work still lives on. It's said that the curse was placed on five humans. Our progenitors. Each and everyone of the vampires could be traced back to them."

"Have you seen them?" Vicki asked

But someone else answered, "Of course he hasn't... no one has." It was Lexi she saw me cooking and took my eggs and said, "Thank you." She then looked at Vicki and said, "The story he is telling you is nothing but a story."

I chuckled and she looked at me and asked, "Come on you seriously can't believe this... it's nonsense, if they were real we might have seen them."

"I would be too sure of that" I cracked some more eggs and placed the bacon on another pan.

"Wait seriously you've met the originals?" Lexi asked

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "I can't know for sure... I mean if you were one of them do you think you would just announce yourself to any other vampire... they are kinda royalty in our world."

"Such a tease" Lexi snarked and went back to eating

"Do you think you'll get to meet them?" Vicki asked

I sighed and looked at her and said, "I hope not to... the legends of these progenitors aren't… well good. They are 1000 of years old they have burned through their humanity and might not have even a shred of it left in them."

Suddenly my phone rang and it was Caroline, I picked up the call "Hey Tom can you come the grill... I need your help." There was a fear in her voice. "Yeah I'm coming... is something wrong?"

She didn't say anything "Just come quickly..." she hung up and Lexi looked at me and asked "Everything okay?"

I looked at them and said, "I guess so" I looked at Vicki and said, "I'll be back soon..." As I was leaving I quickly turned around and picked a few piece of bacon and got out.

I quickly reached the grill, I parked my car and got inside and I found or more like Caroline found me, she was watching the door very intently, she flagged me down and I made my way there and sat down on the table. I looked at her and asked, "Everything alright? You sounded scared on the phone."

She looked at me and put on an uneasy smile and said, "Yeah, no I'm fine… I just wanted you to get here quickly we have a lot to discuss about this party."

I looked at her and sighed under my breath and said, "Okay, what are you thinking, lay it on me."

She then got a binder from her purse and showed it to me and it was a little extensive, "So I was thinking we could do like a…" I stopped her before she could finish that thought.

"Yeah… I don't know if Stefan would like any of that…" I pursed my lips and she did look disappointed.

"Okay" She nodded "What do you think he'll like?"

"Alcohol"

She scoffed and said, "So you just want me to do nothing?"

"Sometimes less is more." I tilted my head and she scoffed and tried to go, I held my hand and said, "Just listen…"

She looked at me and sat down with an annoyed face, "You know how Stefan is he doesn't like to be the centre of attention… so if we throw an over the top party he might not like it."

She looked at me and pursed her lips and sighed before saying, "Okay… but you'll have to wear a party hat…"

I was baffled and asked, "Why me?"

She smiled sinfully and said, "Do you want the party or not?"

I grunted and said, "Fine."

She smiled and nodded, "So I guess we throwing just a frat boy party…" I nodded and she said, "How much beer should we get?"

I thought to myself and said, "I think 3 big kegs would do… also we should get some Vodka and Blue labels as well."

"How many people will come to this?" Caroline asked

"I don't know and it's not like booze is perishable… we can sell some back to the grill if some gets unused."

"What about food?" Caroline asked

"Yeah I'm hungry." I picked up the menu

Caroline looked at me and said, "Not what I meant."

I looked at her and said, "I'm doing a taste test… what do you think about burgers?"

She took a menu and said, "No one drinks beer and eat burgers at a party… Pizza is the way to go."

I looked at her with a serious look and said, "Ah, the three most American things to do is Beer, Cheeseburger, and Blonnn…"

She looked at me and asked, "Were you going to say Blonde?" She looked pissed

I looked at her unable to contain my embarrassment and said, "Yes."

She looked at me and said, "We're doing pizza." She then looked down at the menu.

"Mhhhm." I nodded in silence

After having some early lunch we both talked to the manager of the grill about the party and I put a deposit on the booze and the food. Both of us got out of the grill and I asked Caroline, "You want a ride?"

"Obviously…" Caroline said as she got inside.

"I am loving your confidence but you really should tone it down a bit."

After dropping Caroline home I went back into the town and went to the cable provider to pay the bill. Zach still had to pay some bills to the provider. After doing so I made my way home and as I pulled up to the drive way I saw Elena's car, she got out and saw me and stopped.

I parked the car and got out and asked, "Hey, ah… what are you doing here?"

Elena looked a little nervous fidgeting with her keys and said, "I know I'm not supposed to be here… with Vicki and all that, but I need to talk to Stefan face to face."

I sighed and nodded, "Alright."

We started walking to the door and she asked, "How is she doing by the way?"

I smiled and said, "She is doing good… we've made a lot of progress… she's coming on her own."

Elena sighed in relief and smiled, "That's good."

I opened the door and asked, "Hey ah listen, there is going to be a party at the grill."

We walked inside and Elena said, "A party? Caroline mentioned something like that. So you two?"

I looked at her and said, "It's for Stefan's birthday."

She looked surprised and asked, "Today is his birthday?"

"Yeah… that's why you're here right?" As I asked I heard Lexi, "Who's down there Tom?"

"It's Elena… is Stefan there?" I asked.

"He's in shower." Lexi replied and then suddenly Vicki came out of the parlour and said, "We all have super hearing do you guys mind not shouting?!"

Vicki looked at Elena and folded her hands and smiled with a twisted expression, "Elena?"

"Vicki" Elena replied.

Stefan quickly appeared with wet hair and right behind him was Lexi whose hair was wet and Elena looked at them both and said, "Maybe I should go?"

Elena walked out and Stefan followed her behind and Lexi looked at the opened door baffled at everything she just saw and asked, "Did you?"

"Yup." I replied

She looked at me, "Is she?"

I shook my head "Nope"

"I need a drink." Lexi quickly walked into the parlour.

I saw Vicki looking at the door and she looked pissed at Elena's arrival and I said, "You okay?"

"I'm fine." She grunted and followed Lexi into the parlour.

I took a deep breath and looked around me and said, "Yup, today is gonna get fucked."

Hey guys, I know I'm late with the upload and I know I promised this chapter tomorrow but my college ran a little longer than I wanted it to. So I didn't have time to write. But on a happy note, Saturday is going to be an off day so I might be able to a squeeze out two chapters. We'll have to see. And lastly I'm going to need one more chapter to end this episode. After that some stuff I have lined I up just for Vicki and Tom, I think you all will like it. With all that said, I hope you liked this chapter if you did. I appreciate a comment.
