Offer Extended, and Accepted

"Come on a Date with us!" <Yuri >

The words left her mouth and echo'd across the room, while a deaf silence descended both the princess and queen's faces became red as tomatoes.

Julius pondered on their proposal, it certainly didn't seem to been a trap as he was on good terms with the pair, and even questioning it further he did a quick unit appraisal on both finding their loyalties towards him to be incredibly high, not quite locked in but still high none the less.

The silence continued to permeate but Julius still gave no response continuing to mull it over in his head trying to find their angle.

The ladies themselves chose to break the silence, advancing upon him still seated on the sofa, each taking a side as they dropped down and began to hug into his two arms.

His brain froze up as he could feel the softness of their bosoms developing his two limbs.

Taking a quick look left then right to confirm his present situation.

"You're not going to refuse our offer are you?" <Yuri >

Cocking her head to the side as she posed this question while staring deep into his eyes.

From his other side Serena was next to go on the offensive.

"Surely you won't refuse, after all there isn't anything else that needs to be done right now... right Herr Julius?" <Serena >

"Huh Hmmm. Well yes that is true I do have free time right now, so I would be happy to accompany you two." <Julius >

Clearly they had plotted against him and knew he'd have no other alternate and even if he could come up with one these two would be able to come up with a reason as to why it was not important or could wait.

"Do you two have plans for what we should do?" <Julius >

"Not really... honestly I'm shocked you agreed!" <Serena >

"Same here so I guess a simple walk around the city would suffice for now, perhaps finding a nice place where we can find something great to eat!" <Yuri >

"Well a walk around shouldn't be an issue, it's basically just an inspection and I would need an escort to protect me while we're out and Yuri more than fufill's that requirement, while Serena could see how The Eternal City is changing to aid her own peoples with their development of Nova Carthago.

The women faces turned down a little hearing his response as he viewed this still as a work putting rather than their literal offer of it being a date, however this was just on the surface.

Julius knew it was a date, he was not just being dense however per the game mechanic his character could not run the risk of falling in love, having others love you is fine, and being married likewise, but he needs to remain indifferent nothing should be allowed to shake his mission of becoming emperor.

Knowing that since this is now reality rather than a game Julius had to admit his heart was shaken some to believe he could relax his guard enough but knowing this reality operated under the same rules as the game he was still stuck by his thoughts.

Anyone whose loyalty was not locked in could theoretically lose their loyalty and eveutall betray him, having someone that close to him doing this would literally break his heart and being so close to him most likely succeed in their attempt on his life.

Serena and Yuri's loyalty levels were in the 90's which meant that only a little more time would be required to bring them up to 100 wherein it would be locked and he could completely drop his guard around them.

That being said he couldn't remain totally aloof as that would likely drive them away and lower their loyalties to him.

So having said his piece and taking both the laides arms he led the pair down the stairs until the entrace of the palace.

The three were dressed nicely but not overly so, so even in the city while they would stand out it would not be overtly so making them a target.

The three made their way out of the palace and desencded down into the city streets.

Behind them a squad of the Praetorian guard were following after at a distance of 15ft so as to not intrude on their outing but also so they could respond and protect their leader should it be needed.

As this was a new city the chaos within was worse than usual as many who arrived for the first time were seeking directions and even those wholived here were still learning the cities layout.

Having chosen to just meander around the trio walked down the smooth streets of the city sticking to the pedestrian paths so that the carriages could pass freely on the roadways.

Stopping once in a while at a setup shop, the ladies checked out a few clothing stores, while Julius himself simply checked in on the types of businesses they were being run in his city.

Any purchases made we directly to be delivered to the palace under their names, so as to not bog them down as they continued their trek.

They arrived at a main plaza where a concentration of various travelling merchants had acquired permits to setup temporary stalls by renting them from the merchants guild, others were owned by the locals.

Various food stalls operated in this square with Hawkers calling out to those walking around to entice them in their wares.

The trio continued to walk watching the shuffling crowd as the commoners within the cities purchased wares, or sold them to the travelling merchants rather than selling at pre-established rates to the merchants guild.

The scent of the grilled meats finally succeeded in enticing Julius who walked up and purchased an assortment of foods from the stalls before taking up a table with the ladies and offering his acquired foods to them.

The food of his nation had advanced some with breads becoming more prominent and sandwiches as well, while pitas and wraps had also joined in as local staples.

All these were common among the people as you could eat them with your hands, and they took little time to make and eat which allowed them to partake in a third meal which up till now was a thing unheard of for those not born into the nobility.

This was brought on by the rise of workable lands and the abundance of food being available as a result.
