Merisset glanced down at the empty chair beside him, then she looked at her father thoughtfully. "You knew I was coming?" she asked, lowering herself into it and feeling the familiar comfort of his presence.

"I do receive a warning once the Haven Scape is being accessed externally, though I could act all enigmatic and say that I know you just as I know all things."

Merisset smiled at her father's weak comedy. "I prefer the first one."

Gavryndor nodded. "So be it."
