It had been a week since the visit to the Necromonger's shop in Darkmount.

Fortunately, the Continent had been silent. Brigade 7 — Kohan Sportic's Brigade — had been dispatched to save a village from a strange fire breakout, but that seemed to be the only atom of disharmony ever since Darkmount.

Academy life had been going smoothly. Spheris had finished studying the Demonarium and most of his Courses' study books, which increased his Intelligence from 490 to 610 and his Perception from 607 to 669.

Of course his Intelligence didn't just improve from reading books, but the more Spheris read, the more the structured mind of his Adaptive Cognition arranged and rearranged, organizing itself to suit the new knowledge it had just received.

In turn, this served as the high level brain exercise, memory control, and visuospatial reasoning the brain needed to boost his Intelligence levels.
