Sonar, and new Sensei

After a few hours of leaving his grandmother's house, Ryo was approached by an Anbu who handed him a ticket giving him exclusive permission to use one of the training areas for himself.

Ryo understood that the Hokage wanted him to train without anyone spying on the boy. Without wasting time, Ryo walked towards this new training area. "The metal of the coins, I have to be able to control them, but even that won't be enough to beat some of the strongest members of the Akatsuki, and it won't be that fast either."

He knew Itachi wouldn't be defeated so easily, and he would have to keep an eye on Sasuke's personal development. Ryo clenched his fist as he walked. "I will make sure Sasuke and Naruto are stronger than in the original timeline. Sasuke already trains his element, but Naruto only discovers it much later.

I will teach him the Wind elemental control training this year; it doesn't have to be much, just like I'll suggest that Sasuke start training with a katana earlier. And if that doesn't work out in the end, Itachi will come to the village again in a few years." Ryo gave a slight smile after all the thought, speaking in a more serious tone now.

"We will have a rematch." He took a deep breath upon reaching the training area; he wouldn't be satisfied unless he at least tore off one of Itachi's arms for what he did to Sae. And he still had more plans in mind for the future, but they were just big ideas with problems; he had to get stronger.

Walking into the forest, he disappeared from the spot while using the high-speed Body Flicker Technique. Ryo could use it repeatedly now, with jumps of 50 meters already, more than double from the middle of last year. Upon arriving in the middle, he noticed a table with some scrolls in the center.

As he approached, he saw a note stating that the scrolls contained sealed weapons such as Kunai, shuriken, and some senbon, with 20 of each. The second scroll contained a large amount of ninja rations, enough for three months, and the last one had 20,000 Ryos.

Seeing this, he was a little unsure why all this, but at the end of the note, it was written: "Use the materials given to you by the Third Hokage to assist in your training, and the money came as a reward for surviving that night." Ryo laughed tensely upon reading the last part. "So almost dying to Itachi gave me money for the whole year and a little more?."

Ryo took the scroll and activated the inscriptions on it with chakra, causing a Kunai to emerge from it. The Kunai stopped in the air, and Ryo grabbed it, noticing that it was of good quality. With this quality, possibly all the other items were of this standard too, which, according to Ryo's calculations, was a small fortune, nothing too extravagant with the money he had earned at least.

Now that everything was arranged, he stored the scrolls away, then sat on the ground. He took the two coins from his pocket and looked at them. Slowly, the two coins began to float in the air, spinning in a spiral.

Ryo already had a good amount of chakra, but he had to train to control both of them together and know the limit of his current body. But something he could now perceive with two sources of the golden metal with him was that he could sense things nearby through the coins.

"It's not a tracking sensation, but something like sonar; every sound vibration that reaches the new coin, I can feel where it comes from." He closed his eyes as he began to sense his surroundings through the coin. However, seconds later, he had to open them again, placing his hand on his head, feeling a great pain, and the coin fell to the ground in its original form.

"That was like trying to learn to fly without wings. It's too many images in the mind at once, the wind blowing through the trees, birds flying, my own breath and body produce waves that are felt by the metal and come to my mind in abstract forms."

In a way, this left Ryo satisfied; he had acquired a sensory ability, as complicated as it was to effectively use it, he now had a way. Ryo couldn't effectively use the coin yet; he had to slowly start mastering it.

"I don't even want to imagine what I would receive in my mind if I tried to make the coin hit something." Ryo, still sitting on the ground, looked at the two golden metals in his hand. "I can't call this coin one and two, right? The first will be the offensive metal, and the second the sensory metal."

The day ended like this; Ryo had done some more tests to be able to control the Sonar. However, more tests showed that it wasn't really a problem to control it, but rather to understand the messages sent to his mind.

The next morning, he spent some time at home. He had to start going to the academy from the next week, but he would go to a more advanced class, and of course, Naruto found out about it. Ryo still didn't know how, but he would eventually tell Naruto.

"Why don't they let me go to the same class as you, Ryo?! I went to talk to the old man about it, but he didn't want to argue with me." Naruto crossed his arms with a sad face. Seeing his friend like this, Ryo chuckled lightly.

"Don't worry, Naruto, I'll just get ahead a little. But it's not like we're not going to continue being friends... After what happened in the Uchiha Clan, I. I want to become stronger.

I don't want to lose anyone else, so I'll move forward, and you can catch up later, I know you will, you're strong too!"

Naruto listened to this and nodded, although he didn't speak. Even though he hadn't interacted much with Sae, he still considered her a good person. And he knew that Ryo had suffered the most of the two.

"However, I'll give you a tip, Naruto! I'll teach you a training exercise!" Naruto's eyes shone as he saw what Ryo was holding, but then changed to a tone of confusion. "A leaf?"

Ryo nodded. "This will be our special training this year, and maybe in the following ones too. Remember Iruka teaching us how to hold the leaf on our forehead? It's similar, but you'll have to do it." Ryo then covered his palm, closing the leaf, and a few seconds later, he removed his hand from the leaf, and Naruto could see that the leaf was cut, almost in the middle, but still not exactly in the middle.

"You'll have to do that, in this case, cut the leaf with your chakra right in the middle, use the wind, try to put the wind in your chakra for that. So you'll have to do better than I did just now; if you practice this, you'll naturally get stronger, but remember, it's a secret between us, so practice in your room."

Naruto didn't understand how this would help him, but knowing Ryo, he agreed without much objection. With that done, Ryo left Naruto to figure out a way to train the leaf cutting technique and eventually improve his control over Wind Release.

Walking to the Academy, Ryo had to arrive earlier than usual. The new class had more lessons than in previous years because it consisted of young prodigies who would lead Konoha in the future. Despite this, Ryo had no idea who they were, and possibly many of them would die in the looming ninja war.

This thought left a bitter taste in Ryo's mouth when he considered it. He didn't know if he would be able to fit in with anyone from the new class, considering they were already a few years older than him, possibly.

Once inside the academy, he opened the door to the class he was assigned to. The lessons had already started a week ago, but Ryo was still in recovery, so he was the stranger in the room. As he opened the door, many eyes turned to him; some were curious, wondering why a child was entering, while others were indifferent.

Ryo wasn't bothered by this, as those who looked at him were merely curious. Soon after, a loud and calm voice addressed everyone in the room. "Alright, students, there's no need for all that. This little boy who just came in is Shimura Ryo. Your new classmate." Ryo looked at the teacher who said this and widened his eyes when he saw who it was. "Why is he here?!" In front of Ryo stood Asuma Sarutobi.
