The unusually dark sky contrasted starkly with the typical day, where the sun usually bathed it in light. In the heart of the city, a clock floated gracefully in the air, capturing the eager gaze of many.
Tick, tick, tick.
As the clock struck 6:00, the resonant chime of a giant bell reverberated throughout the city. The grand doors of the villa swung open, and two strikingly beautiful women emerged, each escorted by a man in a regal black suit.
In the dim morning light, a young man fervently wielded his blade under a tree, sweat pouring profusely from his skin, moistening the dry garden surface.
"Finally, the gene ceremony day has arrived. Every occurrence of my life depends on the outcome of this day's result. I am entirely nervous," he confessed.
"I am confident, young lord, that you will awaken an awesome gene," a cute-faced maid encouraged, her fluffy cat tail swaying as she wiped the sweat from the young man's brow.
Despite her cute appearance, the maid had cared for him since his birth.
"Thank you, Nanny Spring," the young man replied, maintaining a respectful distance. He was wary of the true nature hidden beneath the maid's adorable facade.
"There is a hundred percent probability she's a spy sent by that man to keep an eye on the activities of the royal family, his wife, and child. There's not a single normal person in this family, so I can't let my guard down, even in front of maids," he reasoned to himself.
"My, my, am I witnessing a young lord of the royal family harassing a cute little girl? What a bed brother I have," a person suddenly interjected, revealing herself as the adopted daughter of the Shadow Royal Family.
With a mischievous smile, Aria approached her brother, Zen, who maintained a stoic demeanor despite his boiling anger.
As the sun reached its zenith, the area near the Night Rider family mansion swarmed with a large number of citizens.
A large army clad in black armor sat atop majestic creatures resembling black jaguars, their intense green eyes mixed with a hint of yellow, and their predatory teeth ready to pierce their prey.
In royal black suits, Zen stood at the gate alongside two ethereal beauties in royal purple dresses, witnessing the entrance of the royal escort army at the door of the Night Rider mansion.
Everyone in the vicinity knelt before them, creating a path down the middle.
Then, with a beep, a black Jaguar XF entered through the middle. The car doors opened, and a giant man in his driving attire stepped out. Zen felt a slight tremor beneath him as the man's chest carried him, a symbol of the highest authority in the nation, known as the Captains.
The pickup of Zen's mother was a grand spectacle, and the driver knelt before her.
"I am Janster 2332, Captain of the Night Walkers escort team. It is my pleasure to escort Queen Olivia," he declared. With a gentle nod, he opened the car door, and Zen's mother entered.
Then, he whistled, and two black jaguars landed in front of Zen and Aria. These jaguars, although smaller than the others, commanded respect and evoked fear in their fellow creatures.
"Your lord and your lady, please take your seat," the captain instructed, scanning Zen with a curious gaze.
The Jaguar XF led the way, with the two jaguars carrying Zen and Aria on their backs. The giant army of Night Walkers began heading toward the central arena.
People lined the streets, shouting and cheering. Zen's keen ears caught snippets of conversation from the crowd.
"Is he the youngest son of Queen Olivia? This is the first time I've seen him. I heard he has some kind of disease, which is why he's been kept indoors. But look at his physique; he looks like a young man just coming of age. He's so handsome."
Another person chimed in, "Yes, look at him dominating; his veins are visible. He doesn't even seem like a young boy just reaching eighteen. Instead, he looks like a knight who has gone through hundreds of battles."
After an hour of riding, they finally reached Starlight Mountain. This place was heavily guarded by the Imperial Army, and even the most powerful gene warrior would turn to ash if they attempted to breach it.
This million-yard space was built for a single person's fun and amusement. The royal zone was grounded with hundreds of mountains symbolizing each royal family. Ten reserve forests were habitats of the rarest and most fearsome creatures, kept as pets by the great hero.
What attracted Zen most was not the rare herbs and trees, but the purest radiation lake in the South, the most luxurious item in the world. Only a single person, the emperor of Warlight, could step in it. The radioactive water was beneficial for the development of gene users. Some theories suggested that a D-class warrior could instantly become a class C warrior just by taking a sip of the lake.
"Ma'am, please be careful from here on. We're about to accelerate. All the jaguars have tightened their muscles," the driver warned.
In a matter of minutes, the car reached a speed of 300 km/hr, launching itself onto a clear road that wound through the mountains. What astonished Zen more was the incredible creatures they were riding. These jaguars had been running at a speed of 250 km/hr for hours without showing any sign of exhaustion.
After two hours of rushing, they finally reached the peak of the mountain, known as Clock Mountain. From this vantage point, Zen could see the Central Arena nestled amidst the Starlight Mountains.
"This is like a replica of the Colosseum, the great Roman arena," Zen marveled at the sight. The walls of the arena were constructed from multicolored stone, and its size was colossal, perhaps ten times the size of the original.
The Captain of the Night Walkers army extended his hand out of the car window and made a gesture. In a quick reflex, the entire Night Walker army formed a protective formation around them. Energy fluctuations began to stir in the air. As they pointed their spears into the sky, dark lights mixed with white fumes radiated through the air, symbolizing the Night Rider family lighting up the sky.
The same phenomenon occurred on the other mountain peaks, each generating a unique energy display.
When Zen turned his gaze toward the other mountain peaks, he couldn't believe his eyes. The mountain in front of them was occupied by an army of red horse riders, with a dazzling Ferrari sparkling at its center.
On the next mountain, an army in bulky armor rode on the backs of black bulls, while a Lamborghini Aventador roared to establish its dominance.
To the north, there was a Mustang Shelby GT500, but there were no people; instead, a giant black snake coiled around the entire mountain.
A Peugeot 5008 GT, represented by the Lion family, stood proudly on the golden peak.
Countless luxurious cars filled the peaks, each accompanied by its battle army.
But compared to what came next, all of this paled in comparison.
The still radioactive lake to the south began to roil with a deafening roar of disruption. The ground below their feet began to tremble as a massive black creature emerged from the depths, its size making the mountain appear insignificant. On top of its head was the shine of a Rolls-Royce Phantom, symbolizing its regal status.
The mere presence of this creature exerted immense pressure, causing everyone, including Zen, to kneel in its respect.
"We, the armies of the Warlight Empire, pay our respects to the greatest hero who vanquished the Demon King and saved humankind from its fall,
We kneel in front of the great emperor of the Warlight Empire, Sir Warren Warlord!
We pay our respect to the Great hero Gyros!"
Thousands of soldiers erupted in a chorus of respect for the man in the Phantom.
Zen, too, knelt on the ground, his throat dry with nervousness. He whispered to himself, "Finally, I'm going to see the man my heart despises the most. The Hero of humanity, and unfortunately, my father."
The car door opened, and the man gracefully stepped onto the ground, basking in the enthusiastic cheers of the crowd.
But Zen, on the other hand, was dazed, his lips becoming uncontrolled.
"Puff, puff, he is the Hero of This world."
The reason for Zen's uncontrolled behavior was the emperor of the Warlight Kingdom wearing golden undergarments over a strange costume. His golden cloak fluttered in the air, making him proud of himself.
Zen thought to himself, "Seriously, the strongest person and hero is actually the golden underwear man.
Huh, But why is he wearing his underwear outside of his costume? Not even Superman does that," Zen mused, struggling to contain his laughter as he began to punch the ground. Those around him were confused by his sudden behavior, thinking he had suddenly gone crazy.
After the display with the golden punch and the ensuing cheers, everyone made their way into the Central Arena.
Zen, accompanied by the Night Walker army, reached the entrance.
As Zen scanned the surroundings and observed the other armies,
suddenly something head towards him alerted his reflexes.
A giant golden skin bull monster rushed toward them. Zen grabbed onto the bull's horns with all his might, attempting to stop it, but in the face of the bull's might, Zen's body seemed small and weak.
Nonetheless, somehow he manage twisted the bull's neck, causing it to fall to the ground.
The Night Walker army reacted swiftly, with ten jaguars leaping onto the bull, but they were repelled by the young man in his twenties.
"I apologize for my pet's aggressive behavior," the young lord of big bull Royal family , hero 60th son .
"It's okay, but it would be quite embarrassing if people found out that the family controlling the market of the entire Warlight Empire couldn't control their pet," Aria quipped, her gaze sharp.
The young man feigned innocence, provoking Aria. "Ah, the adopted daughter of the Night Walker family. I apologize again for my pet's impoliteness."
Young and provocative, Aria was not to be outdone. "Oh, young lord, you don't need to apologize for the behavior of your beast."
As tensions simmered between them, a new character entered the scene.
A woman in a striking red dress, accompanied by a chubby young man sucking on a lollipop, approached, appearing to be around Zen's age.
The young man in the hoodie commented, "Ah, Miss Grenade is here. I'm very grateful for your support, but it's clearly my pet's mistake."
Miss Grenade responded, "Oh, young lord of the Bull Stock army, you flatter me too much. It's nothing. I just saw the Night Rider family reacting too much to a small incident. So, as a family ranked one level above them, I had to step forward to show them their place."
Just as Miss Grenade made her entrance, Zen's mother began to tremble and sweat. "I, I have seen Miss Grenade. How are you doing?" she stammered nervously.
Miss Grenade, however, responded with a scoff, "Hmph, cowardly witch, always acting like a pure lady."
Zen's mother was left speechless, her lips trembling with fear. In the royal family, all women were ranked based on their favorability by the emperor. That's why all wives of heroes were very concerned about building their status in front of the emperor. Out of them, the red woman ranked 99th, while Zen's mother ranked one position below, at 100th.
Perhaps this was the reason why, even after eighteen years of imprisonment, Zen's father never showed his face to the child of the woman ranked 100th.
Miss Grenade, sizing up Zen who was shocked by his mother's innocent act, remarked, "Demit, who in the world would believe she's a ghost woman who captured her own child for eighteen years?"
Miss Grenade turned her attention to Zen. "Oh, so he is your son, the 100th son, that sick boy hidden from the world. I finally show up. I am quite curious what kind of gene your fragile body could awaken," clear astonishment flickering in her eyes as the image of Zen was completely different from his expectations of a weak and sickly boy hidden beneath layers of fat.
Zen, his demeanor resembling that of an evil mother seeking revenge for her child, ignored her with a seriousness that belied his true emotions. "I appreciate the warm welcome."
Miss Grenade, angered by his calmness, retorted, "Ah, Think Stick, the prodigy with high-grade gene power. I'm curious to see if your son can live up to the family name."
Olivia, Zen's mother, showed clear nervousness, continuously biting her lips as the tension escalated.
Aria stepped forward, stirring up the power struggle. "Smelly pig, how dare you speak nonsense about my family."
Miss Grenade fired back, "Smelly pig? Little do you have the audacity to speak against me."
Both the Night Rider and Red Horses armies were alerted by the sudden heat.
A man in a white-golden hoodie suddenly appeared and disappeared at the speed of light, delivering a warning.
"Both families of the great hero king, restrain yourselves. I hope all understand that it's not good if the great hero were to find out that his wife and child were fighting in front of the public on special occasions."
In the whole conversation, Zen did not speak anything; he only analyzed the people around him. Of course, he was just a side character, and if there was a chance, he would kill the woman for insulting him. Why would he need to act brave and alert his own enemies?
But what amazed him was the man in the golden hoodie, who appeared and disappeared at the speed of light.
"All my years of training are just a joke. Even if I bet my whole being, he would instantly cut me in half. This world is truly all about gene," Zen thought to himself.
After that, no more conversation happened, and everyone entered the arena silently, with sharpness in their gaze.
