Ariel was furious, but she couldn't let Mister Fletcher notice her true feelings. She calmed down and said in an aggrieved voice, "See, I told you, Mister Fletcher. My sister is a heartless ingrate, if you hadn't caught her then I and my family would have been in trouble. Only my sister can pay you back, if she runs away then even if you skin our entire family we can't pay you back."

At times like these, Ariel was glad that her relationship with Noah was not disclosed. If it had, then she would have certainly been bothered by this man.

Mister Fletcher did not notice anything amiss. He inwardly agreed with Ariel, though there were two women in the Harlow family apart from Ariana, he did not believe that either of them could fetch him a good deal as neither of them were as pretty as Ariana.
