As Alpha Denzel was leaving the pack, he said to Valerie, "I will check around the pack. You can prepare something warm for us to eat."

"Of course," Valerie agreed, but she was full of suspicions about his movements.

As soon as Denzel turned around, she whispered to Alice, "Can you start dinner? I will come and help you later."

"Okay," Alice agreed joyfully, not suspecting anything.

Valerie followed Denzel from a distance, using silent steps so he wouldn't notice. She froze when she saw Denzel with a woman. The woman's head was covered with a black hood, but when Denzel got closer, she removed it.

"Ashley?" Valerie murmured with tears in her eyes as she saw Denzel giving something to her. Her heart sank, and she turned around and walked away.
