Chapter 19: Father and Son
The new Nizam Raj had realized that he had no choice but to sue for peace. But he had to make the final struggle before surrendering, so he sent his last and only army of 100,000, 10 tanks and 3 artillery from france to Berar. In which he caught all his enemies unprepared and imprissoned them. He had sent a message to the British and the Mysoreans and his allies, asking for a ceasefire and a negotiation. The British had agreed, but only on the condition that the Nizam would be lenient on their Prisoners. The Allies had also agreed, but only on the condition that the Nizam would favour them over the British.
The Nizam had agreed to meet the representatives of the British Crown and the Allies in his Falaknuma palace, where they had arrived a few days ago. They had been discussing the terms of the peace treaty for the past three days, and had finally reached an agreement. The Nizam had signed the treaty, and had handed it over to the British and the Allies.
The treaty was called the Peace of Hyderabad, and it had the following provisions:
- Osman Ali Khan and his brothers were forced to leave all inheritance rights and had been expelled from political arena of Hyderabad.

-The British Crown recognized the sovereignty and independence of the alliance and renounced all claims and rights over their territories and subjects.
- The British would cede its Bombay presidency to the Hyderabad and its allies the Mysoreans, Indore and Cochin. Hyderabad and Mysore will annex half Bombay Presidency from north of Mangalore to south of Mumbai, except Mumbai and above region.

- The British Crown agreed to withdraw all its troops and officials from the ceded territories within six months and to respect the customs and religions of the local people.
-The British Crown agreed to grant free trade and navigation rights to the alliance in all its dominions and colonies, and to lower the tariffs and duties on the alliance's exports and imports in Indian Region.
- The alliance agreed to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the British Crown and its dominions and colonies, and to refrain from any interference or aggression against them or their allies and vice-versa.
-As per British strong request Nizam had agreed to release all prisoners of war, guarantee the safe release of Marquise Curzon and all confiscated property and assets to the alliance.
- The Nizam would disband his army in the region, and Nizam would maintain only a small force of 50,000 men for his personal security to ensure the British against his future Betrayals.
- The alliance also had to reassure British with the maximum active army of 100,000 personnel.
- The Nizam would grant full civil and religious rights to all his subjects, regardless of their faith, caste, or gender, and would implement land reforms and social reforms in his new region of state.
The treaty was a humiliating and devastating blow to the British and its state. The crown had lost Bombay precedency, its sovereignty, its wealth, and its prestige.

After Calming the whole Hyderabad, Raj finally had some time to clear some things with his Father the previous Nizam, which were left in middle in Mysore Kingdom.
After dealing with his half-brothers and British, Raj met with his father in his study. Raj said, "Father please continue why you asked me not to fight British extensively who Invaded our motherland.
On which his Father said, "Let me ask you one thing, Did you defeat British because you are stronger?
No, they surrendered because of the Royal Marquis that you captured. The thing the British care about the most is their image. If you had done anything with that marquis you would have seen the real strength of British crown, its allies and its spies."
He continued, "Let me tell you something as I was the most powerful Indian person alive who opposed British for a long time, I know some of their strengths, let me ask you
1. Will you be able to stop their revenge and their alliance with other Indian States. Even if you took whole South India from the British which is next to impossible, they have the north to restock, resupply and reorganise, can you oppose them.
2. Can you deal with their Navy which is strongest in the whole world, even Americans can't fight them head on with a nation thrice of united India.
3. Can your alliance oppose their economic sanctions after your victory.
4. I have also heard some secret news that they have developed new type of weapons that can attack from air and other under the water can you deal with them.
5. They have whole industrial chain for supplies.
6. They have fast transportation for logistics in India better than you.
7. Don't talk about whole British empire, they have stronger economy in India than you.
Tell me you can't deal with them in land, water or air. You can't even fight them even on one of economic, logistics and military fronts. How will you fight them, they will create a new example out of you by destroying and killing us all, to scare all Indian States of them and it will also demoralise Indian National Congress and Muslim League who struggle for freedom.
The best possible way available to you is to join freedom struggle in secret with Congress or Muslim League and be a politician and fight for freedom peacefully against British, as they are weakening in their hold of world as Americans and Germans challenged their hegemony.
When India get its freedom become the leader of noble faction to control Congress and the new form government to make Nation according your vision."
He then sarcastially continued, " Son if you really desperately want to make your vision a reality now, I mean now. Then you should change this nation with other un-colonised land or exchange a colony with someone to develop it yourself. These are the only possible solutions that I can think of, haha."
Raj contemplate on his father's views for a long time and finally came to a conclusion.
