Once outside, "I selected what dungeon to go to. Now only one thing remains, selecting my Sub-Class", he thought to himself.
He then walked towards the Runecrafting Profession Guild. Unlike in the novice village where there would be a professional hall, that has NPCs of all professions nearby to teach skills to the players, it wouldn't be the same here.
For each profession, there is an institute associated with it. You have to find the institute and only then you find the skills or resources required for that profession. Sure there is the adventurer's guild where many things can be found, which could be used to skip the task of finding the professional guilds but only the professional guild would possess the high-level resources required for a profession.
So one has to find the appropriate guild in order to advance properly. There is also the factor known as favorability, which wouldn't be great if you associate yourself with the adventurer's guild too much, rather than depending on the profession guild.
With favorability and reputation, one would get discounts or ease of doing things in this world. In fact, these two play the same roles in most worlds.
The players don't have any idea about these facts and they would make use of the adventurer's guild to gain a sub-class or buy resources required for the advancement at first. Only later they found that favorability would be increased not just by doing quests but also by having interactions, just like in real life.
Chris reached the RuneCrafter's Guild and appeared before the reception desk, "Hello, I would like to learn Runecrafting for my Sub-class".
The girl at the reception smiled at him and asked him, "Do you have an identity card of your class or any other identification?"
"Yes I do", Chris said as he handed her his Magic Tower card.
She registered the card details into the database before returning it to him, "Thank you, sir. You can go through the left corridor. The second room on the left side deals with the subclass".
"Thank you", he replied and went along his way to the described room.
---
Once he arrived at the room, he knocked twice on the door though it was open. There was a man in the room and he seemed busy. So he thought it would be respectful to knock as he was disturbing his work.
Hearing the knock, the man looked up at Chris with a questioning gaze.
"Sir, I am here to pick Runecrafting as my sub-class", Chris said as he understood that the man wanted to know the reason for his arrival here.
The man nodded and pulled out a scroll from a box beside his desk, "Here, use this scroll to obtain the Runecrafting sub-class", he said as he handed over the scroll to Chris.
Chris thanked him and used the scroll.
[Detected that the player wanted to use the scroll for a Sub-Class: Runecrafting.]
[Do you want to proceed?]
[Yes/No]
"Yes"
A bright light appeared above Chris's head for a few seconds before disappearing.
[Congrats you have obtained a Sub-class.]
[Detected that the player was first to obtain a Sub-Class.]
[Do you wish to announce the achievement to the world?]
"No"
[Detected player has decided to not announce his achievement.]
[You have been awarded with a +50 reputation and a Silver Box.]
"Sure enough, I am losing a lot of reputation by this. One month, that's all I need to improve myself. After that, there would be no need to be afraid of anyone. I can outright announce my achievements".
Chris left the Runecrafting guild before opening the silver box. Others might open them in front of the NPCs thinking that they were just game elements but Chris knows the truth about this world, at least partially.
They can clearly see players opening the boxes but couldn't ask them about that. There were some restrictions placed on them that would come loose as the Abyssal Invasion happened.
Once out of the building, he found a deserted place and opened the box.
[Congrats you have obtained Runecrafting Pen & Ink (Rare) and Basic Runecrafting Book (Rare).]
[Runecrafting Pen and Ink (Rare): can be used to inscribe runes of rare grade or lower seamlessly.]
[Basic Runecrafting Book (Rare): Contains all basic runes and crafting methods of rare grade and below.]
"It seems that I didn't gain much even though I have a lot of luck. Is there a reason why I didn't gain much or is this considered a lot as I didn't announce my achievement?" Chris mused to himself.
Items are classified into different levels such as Common, Uncommon, Rare and much more.
Rare items appeared for the first time a month after the game started, but now Chris thought that he would get high-level items because he had too much luck value. The items were considered extraordinary at this stage, and one can say that he shouldn't be greedy.
The reason why the items were not of high value was the reason he thought. He lost rewards because he didn't want to announce himself too fast and get shot in the leg.
"Let's see my status once more before going to the dungeon".

"Nothing has changed, just a new subclass was added".
---
A few minutes later, he arrived at the dungeon, which seemed to be empty. No adventurers were entering it nor were there were guards who kept an eye on it.
