Fighting a Giant (2)

The club itself was the size of his full body yet William gritted his teeth and with all his might, moved the club up in the air.

He didn't scream and controlled himself to be as unnoticed as possible.

The Gremlack looked at the situation in front of it yet it was too late now, William couldn't hold onto the club any longer, his limit seemed to just be two or three seconds, and he was already at his limit.

So after fixing its trajectory, William pushed it forward and the club fell on its own on the Gremlack's feet.

The Gremlack's high-pitched scream pierced the air, sending shivers down William's spine.

While the damage he could have personally given it was minimal, with the help of the club, he made a pulp of the creatures' feet.

While the creature was in agony, William made a quick decision and dragged the club, his gaze fixed on the agonized Gremlack, when he took it off the feet, the Gremlack screamed in even more agony as flesh seemed to drag off with the club too.

William's heart sank. Had it only been 10 or 15 seconds? It felt like an eternity.

It felt like minutes since he started to fight with the big creature yet in reality. It had only been 10 seconds.

William kept ducking, the defense bot was ready to attack and now, William only had to get out of its trajectory.

Another sound of the arrow shooting came and William saw a fast silhouette travel toward the big creature.

PUCHI!

The Gremlack looked down and saw something on its body, it was an arrow that had pierced its gut. The damage was so minimal that it didn't feel anything yet the pain of the busted foot was still there. While the dumb creature was going to take the arrow out.

"Defense bot!!" William screamed with crazy eyes, and the defense bot seemed to react to his voice, "Attack the Gremlack every 3 seconds non-stop!!"

William screamed, he did not know if the defense bot would be able to take such a command, he had used a lot of points to upgrade it here and there.

He waited and waited and surely thought nothing would happen, his dagger was on the ground somewhere as he was unable to use it because of the thorn punch skill which was still activated.

With bewilderment, William looked back and saw the defense bot all ready in just 3 seconds.

'I see… it could take such a command huh…' William felt dumb by this discovery yet he wanted to try something.

He stepped back and waited for the Gremlack to move with him. The Gremlack had its foot busted and when it tried to take a step and pick its feet.

It screamed from the pain, the club had done so much damage and to William's advantage, the Gremlack didn't seem to be able to travel anymore.

'With urgency comes results.' William closed his eyes for a second and focused on the vitality in his body.

After taking the vitality as a source, he desperately tried to find something else in his body, it had been too long and now it was either he get it now or never.

Another arrow came flying toward the creature and it tried to smack it away, alas the speed of its hand was just too slow.

Another arrow struck, piercing the Gremlack's side. Though the damage was minimal, the creature seemed momentarily distracted.

It saw the defense bot which was shooting all those arrows. The Gremlack looked at its bad foot and the other, it tried getting its other foot to move and surely, it was successful.

It screamed again after dragging the mushed foot.

William's eyes were closed and he seemed to not get anywhere and when the Gremlack moved, he could sense the tremors in the ground.

The urgency increased again and William tried to desperately find the new energy that resided in his body.

Sensing the Vitality might have been great but William also felt that it hindered him from finding his mana.

DUM

With another step and another click from the defense bot, William felt the urgency increase, it felt like a bad idea and he wanted to stop this madness and fight again.

Yet at the same time, he had come too far and now he wanted to see it to the end.

The Vitality was flowing all around his body, just like always, William tried to find anything that was also helping his body.

He tried and tried just like always, yet he felt the creature take another step closer to him. It was slow but still coming, an upcoming danger for his life.

He racked his brain and suddenly, some dots connected.

'I always think of it as something that is helping my body, just like vitality…' William thought.

'But… what if it's not helping my body right now? What if it's just staying dormant because I can't use it?'

With another step that the Gremlack took, A sudden clarity washed over William. .

William shifted his focus, searching not for flowing energy but for something static, something innate.

BADUM…

'Hm?'

BADUM… BADUM…

'What?'

William for the first time went toward the sound of his heart, he could not see anything in his body but feel it. His heart beat again and William tried to peer inside it.

There was a small point of light inside it, William felt excited after sensing it. He tried tapping into it, just like his vitality and his senses met with a realization.

'I-It's not inside… it's behind the heart?!' William opened his eyes finally seeing the Gremlack that was just in front of the defense bot.

As messages flooded in one after another—TING TING TING TING—William's adrenaline surged.

Filled with adrenaline, he dashed forward, seizing his only advantage against the towering monster.

"Hahh!!"

The Gremlack was truly a slow creature, it was trying to attack the defense bot yet before he could do so,. He sensed William coming and tried to change the trajectory only to find that William already reached near it.
