Chapter 145 - Strange feeling [3]

Since he woke up that morning, Prime had been feeling a familiar sensation that had been accompanying him in recent days. The difference, however, was that, on that specific morning, the sensation was much more intense than before. He felt that if he tried just a little harder, he would be able to remember the dream he had.

Prime didn't know why, but he felt that his dream was important, even if he didn't understand why. He wasn't naive enough to believe that his dreams had no meaning. After all, Prime wasn't human, but an alien species. Maybe his dreams were much deeper than they appeared.

"Man, I've been saying this for a while, but lately, you seem pretty distracted"

Prime finally snapped back to reality when he heard Sara's voice echo behind him, grabbing his attention. At that moment, he was sitting on the couch with his laptop in front of him, while countless thoughts swirled in his mind. He was so distracted that he hadn't even noticed Sara's presence until now.

"Sorry, what were you saying?"

Despite Prime's questions, Sara simply stared at him in silence. He returned her gaze but soon raised an eyebrow when he realized neither of them spoke for a while. Prime quickly understood that Sara wanted answers about why he had been so distracted lately, but honestly, he didn't know what to say to her.

He didn't even know why he was so distracted; he just felt that something important was about to happen, something he should have remembered by now. In the end, Prime sighed and lightly patted the empty seat beside him on the couch. Without hesitation, Sara jumped over the couch and settled down next to Prime.

"So, what's really going on?"

Prime heard Sara's question and closed his eyes for a brief moment, trying to organize his thoughts. However, he still didn't know exactly where to start — in fact, he didn't have a starting point. Even knowing it would be confusing, Prime decided to share with Sara what he was feeling.

"Lately, every time I wake up, I have this feeling that I dreamed something important, but in the end, I can't remember. I'm left with this strange sense of loss, as if it's something I really should recall, something crucial that I need to try to recover at all costs"

Prime tried to express the feelings he had been experiencing, but he didn't expect Sara to be able to understand them. He was struggling to comprehend them himself, so he thought it unlikely that others could. However, Sara's next words genuinely surprised him.

"I... think I understand what you're trying to say"

Surprised, Prime turned his gaze to Sara, raising an eyebrow in doubt. How could she understand him when he himself was struggling to understand?.

"Lately, I've also had the feeling that I'm dreaming about something repeatedly. However, no matter what I do, I can never remember what exactly the dream is about. The only certainty I have is that it wasn't my dream; I experienced it merely as an outsider. The feeling was so strange that I can still feel it"

Prime's first thought upon hearing Sara's words was that somehow, the two issues were definitely connected. After all, they shared a symbiotic bond. However, Prime wondered why he hadn't considered the possibility that Sara was also having these dreams, given how intertwined they were. He pondered this for a while but couldn't find an answer.

"Do you think this could somehow be related to your past?"

Prime paused to reflect on Sara's question, but no matter how long he thought, it didn't seem to be the case. For starters, he was convinced that before dying, he was an ordinary human, living a normal life like anyone else.

"I don't think that's possible. I mean, what could I have been doing in my former life that would relate to this one? As I mentioned, I was just an ordinary guy in college with a few friends. Although it sounds strange to say this about myself, I was the kind of person you could find anywhere"

Upon hearing Prime's words, Sara let out a brief laugh, and he just sighed. It wasn't as if he hadn't expected that reaction, but in the end, what could he do? Besides, Prime didn't care too much about it, as he felt that Sara wasn't genuinely belittling him.

"Those are nice words you said a moment ago"

Prime smiled briefly in response to Sara's words, but he felt that those weren't the only things she had to say.

"Anyway, don't worry so much about it. You're trying to do everything alone again. Did you think I wouldn't notice you've been having strange dreams at night? We're connected, idiot, remember? I can feel what you feel. Maybe that explains why I'm having these strange dreams too"

Although Prime had already considered telling Sara about his dreams, he hesitated to burden her with something he didn't even understand. He didn't intend to remain silent forever; he was just waiting for the right moment to share it with her.

"Anyway, what do you plan to do about these dreams? I don't think it's possible to just make them go away, right? It would be great if you could look inside your own mind and find out what's really going on"

At that moment, Prime looked at Sara in surprise, raising an eyebrow. Noticing his reaction, Sara looked at him the same way and slowly moved her lips, saying a few words.

"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? Did what I say seem so dumb?"

At that moment, Prime realized that he really was looking at Sara. His eyes flashed and a slight smile appeared at the corner of his lips.

"No, that's not it. I just thought your idea was really good. Of course, I can't enter my own mind, but, as you said, your dreams might be connected to mine. I can try to access your memories, even the ones you don't remember having"
