Supreme/Universe Sects

If they reached level 3, which was an in-theory level that Gu Yuntian himself hadn't put much detail into, both of the practitioners of the Technique would evolve once again. They would become something even beyond True Physique Cultivators.

They wouldn't have rivals at the same stage. According to Gu Yuntian, they would be invincible at every Stage. 

He wanted to cultivate the technique! 

They couldn't lose out on this supreme power!

This was one of the Dimensional Immortal Sect's greatest legacy.

"We are practicing it!" Eyes filled with ardor, Scarlett nodded but then said in wonder: "Damn, I didn't know until right at this moment how valuable the Dimensional Immortal Sect's legacy was. It always felt a bit mundane, but damn… it's overpowered."

Ethan shook his head, face a bit strained. "This ability is overpowered, true, but the success rate, even for us mortals, is not (100%). It is (80%). And if we fail… we will be crippled for life and we can no longer cultivate. We already do have decent prospects even without practicing this technique, so I am super conflicted. 

"But it is now or never; it's a chance to set us apart from the herd forever. There are a lot of people in the world with a True Physique, but there is no one with this art. In fact, think of it Scarr, anyone who is brought here from the Lower Worlds would have a True Physique, so we are not that special."

Scarlett could see his conflict and she grew silent. 

As far as she understood, they were indeed more special than a normal cultivator but not to a very high degree. 

They were just people with powers of one of the 9 Universe Sects—or called Supreme Sects by some—in their hands. 

Ethan had the powers of the Dimensional Immortal Sect and Scarlett herself had the powers of the Devour Sect. Dimensional Immortal Sect had been annihilated and destroyed but 8 other sects of equal power still ruled the world.

They had all the influence of the world in their hands!

Even Elderly Hungjun, little fairy Emmy's grandfather, had been reverential when speaking about the Supreme Sects. But that was the degree of what Scarlett understood about those titans.

Ethan understood even more about the 9 Sects because of his extensive reading. Those 9 sects were the emperor forces of this world. They ruled like gods!

Once he moves out of the Black Forest and into the wider world, he will have to keep himself in hiding forever. If one of the remaining 8 sects found out that he had the legacy of their dead equal, they would come for his life.

A person's wealth could be their own ruin by causing another's greed!

His Dimensional Abilities had to remain a secret; if the Sects saw a person with a True Dimensional Physique, it wouldn't be too hard to guess the rest. They would know the rest of the story because there had not been anyone in the Immortal World for millenniums who had Dimensional Abilities.

The shrewd sect members would realize he probably had the full legacy! 

Even if they didn't guess that, they would want to kill him because he could be the cause of the dead sect's revival.

Everyone who saw his Dimensional Abilities will have to die. Ethan had already understood all of this when he got hold of the Legacy in the Sea of Leviathans but he didn't think much about it as it wasn't an immediate need. 

The same also went true for Scarlett's Devour Abilities, as it too had to remain a secret, as 'her' sect was malicious against outsiders. Both of them had to tread with caution and prudence. 

Scarlett was a smart woman herself; she most certainly knew it, too. 

And if they were to have such mighty enemies like the Universe Sects—sects capable of bringing normal humans from the Lower World into this place, sects with influence all over the universe—they needed all the power they could get.

They had to maximize their potential if they wanted to stand atop adversity one day!

Others might consider the Legacy as a huge burden, but Ethan only saw it as an enormous opportunity. 

He was the only person in the whole world with Dimensional Ability, and no one would see him coming to steal their banks. 

That's how you take the world by surprise and rise above the elites. No one should see you coming; you have to grow from under their feet and stand above them when the time comes.

He had the raw materials to achieve just that… The inheritance legacy of the Dimensional Immortal Sect. It was an enormous opportunity. If he failed to become a part of the greatest elites, he would just be a worthless idiot.

That was why cultivating the Dao Partner Art was important!

Everyone from the 8 Universe Sects would have their own sect's True Physiques, and they would also be trained by higher-stage cultivators from the young. He would barely be equal to them if he only relied on his overpowered Dimensional Abilities.

Their own True Physiques won't be inferior to his own!

Scarlett's True Physique of Devour was an example!

If she used it well… she could kill him.

The Herculean Sect—another Universe Sect—was also an example. Each disciple of the Sect had a Herculean True Physique, and the Physique made their bodies nearly invulnerable to harm. 

If he didn't use his newly earned strongest offensive Ability that he had yet to see working, Ethan probably couldn't even wound them even if they were the same level as himself. 

They were strong! 

They were even capable of surviving after losing their head. 

Decapitation didn't work on them!

If he wanted to stand above such people, one of the only few ways he could do that was by practicing the foundational techniques he had in the legacy.

[Dao Partner Art] was one of them. But if he fails to succeed, he will be crippled for life along with Scarlett.

He was conflicted. Should he train it?

Scarlett was silent, too.

Do they risk it and bet on the 80% that they would become invincible? Or do they bet on the 20% that they would become crippled trash?
