145: Back to the Present

Valerius's consciousness gradually clawed its way back from the depths of the bottomless darkness of his inner realm, his senses slowly reawakening as if emerging from a deep, impenetrable slumber.

Soon, his eyes fluttered open and he caught sight of his surroundings, which he found quite familiar.

He was lying next to a mirror, but not just any mirror. This was the very same mirror that stood inside the entrance hall of the Primordial Pagoda. This meant one and one thing only. He had returned to the mysterious space and most likely the present from which he had time traveled to the past.

'I should make sure that I have indeed returned to Serphendale,' Valerius thought as he pushed himself to his feet, getting struck by dizziness as he did so.

After steadying himself against the sudden wave of dizziness that greeted his ascent, he realized that he could no longer feel the burden placed on his heart when he was cursed by Namroug.
