Chapter 58: Private Ownership (Part 1)

Apart from the prey brought by Mateo, all the other animals were dead. Some people suggested killing the living ones and nothing else, but Ruby! She couldn't bear it.

Mateo, feeling urgency, stopped one of the beasts with a stone hammer and said to Jimmy, "I want this one. I don't need the others."

Mateo had caught the most today, and Jimmy saw no problem in granting his request. Mateo led Ruby back, but the rest of the catch was declared communal property. Clara still wanted to reclaim the large furry creature, but discontent had already arisen among the beasts, feeling that Jimmy had favored Mateo.

Dani received a gray-furred rabbit. When she saw Clara, they exchanged a few words. Clara noticed the varying amounts others received, with Dani receiving the least. Curious, Clara asked, "Dani, just one rabbit?"
