"If this wand hadn't wholeheartedly accepted you as its new master, I might have been inclined to call Magical Law Enforcement upon hearing this story," said Ollivander calmly. "Very well, if that is indeed what transpired, then I imagine that this wand remained sealed away from the world for a long time. As such, it has had no time to learn modern spells."

Oleandra blew a sigh of relief, though Astoria and Tracey were looking at her strangely. They were no doubt wondering where the Hel she had adventured to during the summer; to come upon a tomb that held jumping wands.

"As I stated earlier, your wand's problem can easily be remedied," Ollivander continued, "simply leave your wand with me for the night, and it will absorb the others' knowledge. You may return for it tomorrow morning."

Oleandra pulled out her pouch in order to pay, but Ollivander shook his head.

"This service is free," Ollivander declared, "provided that you grant me the permission to study your wand."

Oleandra didn't really see any problems with this, and besides, Ollivander was probably only being polite. She had to leave her wand with him overnight if she wanted it updated, so what was stopping him from inspecting her wand anyway, while she was away?

"You looked rather mad earlier, when you first saw my sister's wand," Astoria observed. "Why is that?"

Ollivander lifted his gaze from Oleandra's wand and stared right into Astoria's eyes.

"The materials used for this wand's core are exceedingly rare," he said slowly. "A unique variety of Fairy wing, possessing magic infinitely more potent than any regular Fairy's. My family's records state that two Witches brought the materials, refused to disclose where they had obtained them, and insisted that their wands be made with them. My ancestor created the wands to their specifications, but after he completed his task, he found that there were enough materials left to make a third wand. Seeing your sister's wand made me remember that third wand, which was regretfully stolen over two hundred years ago."

Ollivander was rather grateful that Oleandra had given him the chance to research such a unique wand!

"Who were those two Witches?" Astoria asked excitedly. From the way Ollivander was hyping them up, they had to be important, and she was also eager to learn more about the apparently famous wand that had chosen her sister!

Oleandra, however, was less than thrilled. Each clue to her past was a step closer to her true nature as a Fairy being unveiled. On Earth, humans reigned supreme, and one needed only look at the Goblins to see how they treated those they saw as inferior…

"Come now, Astoria," said Oleandra slightly forcefully. "Don't bother Mr. Ollivander, I'm sure he's a very busy man, and those have to be confidential records…"

"Ordinarily, that would be the case, but since you found an unclaimed wand, it's not necessary to apply the usual rules," Ollivander said rather conspiratorially. "Now, when those two Witches bought their wands, they weren't very well known, and neither did they leave their names. But they would end up becoming quite famous later on— I'm sure you know the name Morgan le Fay…"

Morgana's name was infamous; she was known as the woman who rivaled Merlin, and their duels were legendary. Dark Witches were much rarer than Dark Wizards, and she had been the strongest of them all. She even had her own Chocolate Frog Card; Voldemort didn't have one, but that would have been in bad taste; his atrocities were still fresh in everyone's memories…

Oleandra could still remember Viviane grumbling about the fact that even though she'd been the one to defeat Merlin in the end, she'd never obtained as much recognition as her sister…

"And the other…"

Ollivander frowned.

"Strange, the name's on the tip of my tongue, it's not like me to forget such things…"

Merlin's Cursed Seal had rendered Viviane's name illegible wherever it had been written, and Ollivander must have read the name before Oleandra had broken her curse. Thus, he remembered reading it, but he could not understand why he couldn't remember the name itself.

"Right," said Oleandra decisively. "We've got some shopping to do, so we had best be on our way."

Ollivander was still deep in thought, so Oleandra, Astoria and Tracey bade him goodbye and exited his small shop.

"I want to stop by Dervish & Banges to buy some stationery first," said Oleandra. "After that, how does clothes shopping at Gladrags Wizardwear and lunch at the Three Broomsticks sound?"

After Oleandra's growth spurt, her Basilisk skin robes fit her a little more snugly than she'd prefer, and the bottom of her robes no longer covered her ankles. Her combat robes needed alterations: sleeve extensions, a hem lengthening and to be let out a little around the chest. If only she'd had Madam Malkin make them a size larger…

As it was, when Oleandra wore her special robes, she looked as though she was hiking up the bottom of her robes to prepare to wade into a pool of water…

"I've got no problem with that!" said Tracey happily.

"How about paying a visit to Honeydukes before going back to Hogwarts?" Astoria offered. "You could buy some lime candy as a peace offering for Daphne."

"That's brilliant!" said Oleandra excitedly. "Daphne can't resist those!"

================================================================

There was a reason why Oleandra wanted to buy stationery, and more precisely, talisman paper. A huge roll of it, in fact. To take her runic magic to the next level, she couldn't simply rely on simple one-word runic spells or multi-word Galdr thrown haphazardly to the winds.

Stances were all well and good, but their magic was temporary; as soon as she stopped assuming the stance or hand sign, the spell would already begin decaying. Using the Flagrate spell to write in midair was a better option, but it too was temporary; the flaming letters it produced would eventually disappear— which was why Oleandra had purchased an enormous scroll of talisman-grade paper.

This way, she'd be able to inscribe complex sigils and insigils in advance; in the midst of combat, she wouldn't have the time to sit down and begin drawing esoteric symbols perfectly.

Professor Babbling had given Oleandra the idea to weave Lokk, powerful and complex runic amalgams, into Galdr. If the Galdr of the Armour of Elhaz was composed of six Elhaz drawn around a single point, then surely replacing Elhaz with Ægishjálmur would create an impregnable magical defence.

The only thing to worry about then would be the Killing Curse, which could penetrate all magical defences, but Oleandra had a plan for that as well. By inscribing the final rune Odala, the rune of Protection Elhaz and the rune of ice Isaz around her insigil, she would be able to create a special wall of ice…

As she had discovered just this morning, magical rays behaved just like light; so by condensing real water from the atmosphere into a reflective wall of ice, she'd be able to reflect spells that travelled through space like rays of light right back at her attackers; the ultimate defence against Stupefy or Avada Kedavra!
