Amanda Smith felt humiliated to be abandoned by the person she hated most. It was like being publicly slapped in the face.
What disgusted her the most was that she actually felt something.
If she felt nothing, she could have treated it as another assault, just like before. But the disgust was so intense that she felt nauseated.
Tears trembled in her eyes and eventually fell as if she couldn't take it anymore. She forcefully raised her hand to cover her eyes. Lying in bed, tears slid down from the corners of her eyes.
"Do you really have to humiliate me like this?" her voice was filled with indescribable emptiness and sadness, "Do you truly love me as you say you do? Is love supposed to trample someone underfoot? Samuel Johnson, you don't know how to love someone at all. You claim to love me, but it's just an excuse for your selfish and despicable actions. Do you really think that if it's done in the name of love, the hurt doesn't matter?"
