Chapter 6

Mr. Mistoffelees held out his left arm as he descended down to the center of the junkyard. Once he was safely down onto the ground, he let go of the rope and he made it disappear with a flash of white light.

Using his magic, Mr. Mistoffelees made a light blue coloured spot light shine down on him as he walked backwards, towards the front center of the junkyard. As soon as Rum Tum Tugger finished singing the chorus to his song, Mistoffelees turned his back to his tribe and said one of his favourite magic words.

"PRESTO!".

Instantly, all of the lights in the junkyard came on at his command. He started shooting lighting bolts from his paws and blowing up random pieces of junk in the junkyard, as the rest of his tribe joined in on the chorus with Tugger.

"Oh well! I never was there ever! A cat so clever as Magical Mr. Mistoffelees!".

Mr. Mistoffelees made his way over to the old stove, carefully slipped off his LED light jacket and hung it over the small bar on the door of it. From there, he started to dance gracefully around the junkyard, while Rum Tum Tugger sang the next few verses of his song.

After his majestic solo dance, Mr. Mistoffelees ran over to the old punch buggie and pulled out a red blanket out of the flashing tail light. While he was waving it around, he realized that he needed a volunteer. He stopped waving the blanket around and he turned to face his tribe

"I need a volunteer to help me bring back Old Deuteronomy".

Several cats raised their paws, with a few of the kittens desperate to be his volunteers, waving frantically at him.

Mr. Mistoffelees was about to pick Cassandra, when he spotted Victoria sitting by Alonzo to his left, out of the corner of his eye. He scanned through the tribe of cats one more time before he made his final decision.

"I'll pick....Victoria".

He pointed at her, knowing that she didn't volunteer. Mr. Mistoffelees dragged the red blanket over to the black pipe and placed it on top of it, covering the entrance and a bit of the area in front.

He lifted some of the blanket, making enough space for Victoria to crawl underneath it. She slowly went up to him, with her cheeks red.

"You know I didn't volunteer to help you" she whispered, softly.

"I know, I wanted you to be my volunteer" he whispered back.

"But--".

"Do you trust me?" whispered Mr. Mistoffelees, interrupting Victoria.

There was a long pause for a moment, before Victoria nodded her head at him and crawled under the red blanket. He dropped the blanket down and dragged the blanket on the ground, towards the center, with Victoria crawling on her knees so that she remained completely under it.

Mr. Mistoffelees waved his paws over the red blanket and the tribe watched as it jolted a few times, before it was showered by some coloured sparkles. He grabbed the blanket again and pulled it off of Victoria, to reveal now that Old Deuteronomy was underneath it.

Every cat was stunned and in awe of Mr. Mistoffelees. He gave his leader a big hug, before he was praised by his tribe with the chorus of his song.

"Oh well! I never was there ever! A cat so clever as magical Mr. Mistoffelees!".

Mr. Mistoffelees shot a lightning bolt down in front of him and instantly Victoria reappeared out of thin air.

She glanced at Old Deuteronomy, before looking back at Mr. Mistoffelees, amazed by his magic.

"Oh, wo-wow! How did you make Old Deuteronomy reappear?".

"Magic" replied Mr. Mistoffelees, winking at her with a big grin.

Victoria suddenly let out a gasp, realizing that he was Quaxo. Before she could say something, Rum Tum Tugger shouted the last part of Mr. Mistoffelees's song that is never sung and only he says it.

"I give you the magical, the marvelous, MR. MISTOFFELEES!!!!".

Mr. Mistoffelees got his LED light jacket back on in a blink of an eye, so he could do a pirouette, then do a center jump and end his song with a pose for his tribe, making the lights flash in many different colours on his jacket and around the junkyard.

After a few moments of posing, Mr. Mistoffelees bowed before veering off to the black pipe, where Victoria was standing.

"Great performance".

"Thank you".

The pair stood in front of one another for a few moments, unsure of what to say next.

"Um, how come you never told me that you could do magic"questioned Victoria, breaking the silence.

"Well, I usually don't go up to a cat and tell them that I can do magic. I purrfur to show off and perform in front of the tribe" explained Mistoffelees.

"You mean you purrform in front of the tribe".

The two cats chuckled at the cat puns.

"Yeah" he replied, looking deep into Victoria's brown eyes.

"So, is Plato treating you well?".

"How did you know that he was my mate?" asked Victoria, narrowing her eyes.

"Because I saw you two making out after the ball" sighed Mistoffelees.

"So you must have heard what he said about you".

"Well, not all of it," he replied, looking down at his feet.

"Is his den nice and cozy?".

"Um, actually Misto, he and I aren't together anymore".

Mistoffelees blinked twice at her, before tilting his head to one side and narrowed his eyes at Victoria.

"Oh, how come?".

"Because I can't be with a cat when I'm in love with another".

Mistoffelees and Victoria's eyes met and realized that it was him, who she fell in love with. He blushed as he took her paws in his and asked her the very question he wanted to ask since they met.

"Will you be my mate?".

Victoria cheeks went red, with blush coating them.

"It would be an honour to be your mate".

The pair nuzzled each other around the other's by the neck and face. Mistoffelees slipped his paws around Victoria's waist to bring her closer to his body. When they stopped nuzzling, Victoria put her paws on his fluffy white chest.

"Plato told me about the fishing line incident".

Mistoffelees frowned.

"He did?".

"Yes, but I think he deserved it".

Mistoffelees chuckled as he smiled warmly down at Victoria.

"Yeah, he did".

The end.
