Chapter eight

In the morning I had classes but I didn't attend I went to I went with Palma to visit our mom at the hospital 

We find the doctor inside doing some morning check ups

" good morning Doctor any good news " I asked him he turns to me holding his hand up for me to wait for him 

After he was done he went out side where we followed him 

" it has reached every part of her body it's really getting hard we have to schedule a surgery as soon as possible " he said trying his best not to scare us but we know what was coming 

" how much is it going to cost" I ask fighting my tears back "

" I can do the work and the numbers get to you back with all necessities " the doctor offered 

" please do sir and don't say anything to my mom at the moment " 

" let's wait and see and am really sorry " he left us i try my best for my sister we went inside 

Mom was awake she looked really tired and pare 

"How are you mom" I asked her she pull her inhaler down so that she can speak 

" am fine I just wanna go home there is nothing doctors can do " she whispered in a low voice 

I nod my head Palma get down kneeling in front of her bed " how are you feeling mom" her voice was hard I can't believe she is able to handle this more than me 

I went to the doctors get my mom checked out and wait for the surgery at home I didn't say anything to her I plan to come back tomorrow for a test me and Palma I can't accept to lose my mom without a fight never 

We went home that day I was laying on my bed when my phone goes off it was Emily

"Hello girl where have you been " she yells from the other line of the phone I feel my eyes tearing up I miss my friends but above everything I miss James if only he was here hold me tight in his arms and tell me that it's gonna be alright 

"Am not really fine at all" my voice was very low I didn't want my Palma to hear me she was watching TV while mom was a sleep 

" what happened " she sounded alert now all the jokes gone " where are you Leila" 

"At home "

"Am on my way"

Only in a couple of minutes she is on my door with Alice I told them everything for James thinking that the baby is not his to my mom being sick needing surgery which is way to expensive for us and everything 

" Leila am really sorry this is a lot " Alice said they hugged me I cry in their arms i really needed a friend to vent on Palma and my mom I need to be strong in front of them and James is not here I miss him so much 

 They went home late and I cried myself to sleep with Palma 

In the morning we went to the hospital for a test but since I was pregnant am off the table I can't do a transfer and to our luck Palma was a match at least the heaven is on our side I discussed all the options with the doctor about the payment well I was supposed to at least pay half of the cost and the left will be on my debt I will be paying monthly we scheduled a surgery at the end of next week no need to wait

After I rushed to the laboratory do all the work Luca gave me I was not in the mood but I have to take this seriously since at the end of the day i really need a job here this is an opportunity I can't put to waste after my shift Emily and Alice came to pick me up we went to my home when I got to my mom's room she was vomiting Palma holding her I rushed to her 

" mom we are going to the hospital and don't fight me on this " I warned her even though she is sick i have to be tough on this so that I don't leave a room for discussion Emily went in the closet come back with a sweater her and Palma help her dress my mom had no energy to fight us so we did what we wanted my friend were very helpful Emily was to drive Alice sit in the passenger seat me and Palma we sits at the back my mom lean against me and we drive to the hospital 

After everything they went home I stayed at the hospital with mom since I didn't want Palma alone Emily offered to take her with her apartment which I was very thankful for 

After the doctor did a check up on mom she fall a sleep the medicine they were giving her took all her energy she sleeps every time these days I tried to be comfortable on the small bed which was there and sleep I was tried with all the work at the laboratory dealing with my last courses and my book i was supposed to graduate the fall next year now my mom is sick and this pregnancy I really don't know how am going to manage all these and with all the problems that am dealing with my heart choose to miss James the most
