"You have done so well today, your eminence." Abraham started as he welcomed Eve back into a small praying hall. "How did you feel about it?" like an amiable elder who cared about her. He looked at her with a hopeful gaze.
Eve felt incredible. The hope she had seen in their eyes for her stirred her heart in more ways than she could comprehend. She had felt like a ball of energy was collecting in her chest and wanted to come out. But it was stopped by a glass wall.
The energy did not give up. It keeps forcing its way out. She felt like the pain was breaking her apart. But it was gone with them. The moment they left, the pain left her too and it left her confused.
"Evangeline.." Eve blinked and looked at him.
"I was thinking about it." she started and noticed the glint in his eyes, "it felt strange. As if i am a powerful being." he waited for more, but when she did not offer it, his eyes dimmed.
But he did not express it and smiled instead.
