While on the side of Hayato, things were certainly fun, the side of his disciples was finally getting juicy.

Right now, Sakura, Yamato and Naruto had reached a clearing and they were now standing next to Sai.

After Naruto had beaten Orochimaru black and blue, they had figured out at the time that Sai was on a separate mission from Danzo.

Due to Yamato's wood clone, they knew Sai was delivering Danzo's words to strike a deal with Orochimaru against Konoha.

But Sai managed to dupe them in regard to his real mission to kill Sasuke.

In fact, apart from Yamato, Sakura and Naruto didn't believe him at all, and despite seeing Sai's drawing book about his little brother, they still knew something was wrong, even though they sympathized with the guy.

And it turned out to be true since Sai's real purpose was to kill Sasuke.

They found that out after searching his body and finding a bingo book.

Now, even though Sakura and Naruto had started to understand Sasuke more and were no longer obsessed with him, it didn't mean they thought he should die.

So, Sakura was about to teach Sai some manners. Like for instance, listen to the Hokage and not Danzo.

'In the first place, teacher Hayato did say that our real graduation mission is to take control of Konoha,' Sakura still remembered her teacher's words.

And after two years of staying together, she had adopted the same beliefs as him.

And that is to unite the whole shinobi world.

It was going to start with her and Naruto. But she knew with each new disciple, it would be getting closer and closer.

'Danzo… teacher said to start from this guy…' Sakura had a char glint in her eyes.

"The mission was to bring Sasuke back, not to kill him, this is the orders of the Hokage,"

Even Naruto was serious as he looked at Sai.

Normally, they could even kill Sai right this instance and nothing wrong would happen to them.

But, since they knew his past to a certain extent, they only wanted to grab him and set him right.

Sai knew this himself, and let himself be grabbed by Sakura.

'It seems, my thinking is quite wrong…' He had understood a lot of new things on this journey.

He was changing slightly, and the Naruto talk he had with him earlier, affected him a lot.

But as this was going on, suddenly they all heard someone speak.

"You… Sakura?"

A quiet voice sounded and Sakura who had her hands on Sai turned calmly to the origin of the voice.

It was Sasuke.

Things had just gotten real.

By the side of Sasuke, there were Kabuto and Orochimaru.

Sasuke observed his old team and their Jonin teacher quietly and gave a side eye to Orochimaru who was quite dirty and exhausted.

Orochimaru had told him to not fight Naruto since he was quite strong, and being logical he could conclude that he had fought him and was surprised quite a bit.

The old snake wasn't someone who would lose easily after all.

'Naruto is this strong?' Sasuke couldn't help but think.

Nonetheless, he didn't think that he was any weaker, and it was just that his cautiousness of Orochimaru seemed like he had overestimated him.

If Naruto were to hear that, he would laugh loudly, and say that Sasuke's pride had certainly gotten stronger.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Sai got his sword out and spoke up.

"Many things have changed for me this day, but for now, Naruto Sakura, I'll choose to help you bring Sasuke back,"

Sai was a bit emotional.

He said this from the heart, and his willingness to abandon the mission to kill Sasuke showed Naruto and Sakura that he had changed and would continue to do so for the better.

'The more helpers we find in Konoha the better…' Sakura secretly thought.

She then turned her attention to Sasuke, and unlike what she expected to happen, she didn't feel anything.

She simply wanted to ask him to come back to Konoha.

She didn't wish to force him or anything.

She had been expecting to at least feel complicated about him or something but it seemed like she had really matured.

She was proud of herself.

"Sasuke, it's good to see you back," Sakura smiled in her place.

Sasuke gave her a side eye and frowned a bit.

He could feel there was something weird going on about this Sakura.

'Why do I feel like she is quite strong? How could that be possible?'

He understood Naruto, after all, he was the Jinchuriki for the nine tails, but Sakura had always been weak.

'I must be imagining things,'

He turned to Naruto completely ignoring her since she irritated him.

"Naruto-"

He was about to question his strength, by moving next to him, but mid-sentence and mid-step, he found that the wind changed and Naruto was in front of him giving him a shoulder hug.

Naruto smiled as Sasuke widened his eyes in surprise.

"You bastard Sasuke, please tell me you are stronger than Orochimaru, otherwise your journey would have been all for nothing if you are even weaker than this weak snake,"

To be honest, Naruto did not always mean to insult these guys when he spoke.

It was something Hayato had told him repeatedly.

He told him that his honesty was painful for some and that he should do it more, which motivated Naruto.

Sasuke raised his eyebrows at this and looked at Orochimaru to the side.

"I'm definitely stronger!" 

He was convinced of this now, as after seeing Naruto's speed he guessed he could beat Orochimaru.

But he didn't get intimidated, since he still had the Sharingan and was sure he could follow the movement of Naruto with them on.

Orochimaru smirked and licked his lips but stayed silent as Sasuke answered. He even signaled Kabuto to stay silent and watch the drama going on.

Naruto nodded his head in return.

"let's put that to the test then,"

He put forth energy through his arm and pressed Sasuke in place, making him once again get surprised as he couldn't move from his place to retreat a bit.

His hands started doing hand seals at an impressive speed, but for Naruto, it was quite slow.

'It seems like Sasuke is quite… weak too,'

He concluded.

'But why did he say he is stronger than Orochimaru? Does he think that the snake is weak which is why he got his ass whooped? If that is correct, then Sasuke is as arrogant as ever,'

Naruto was quite smart right now, after his training.

While not exceptionally smart, at least he was capable of some logical thinking. Albeit he retained his foolishness.

Sasuke finished his hand seals and released lightning from his body.

Naruto smiled, and stood in place, but released his hold on Sasuke.

*Fwish*

However, as Sasuke stepped back a bit with a jump, he saw the lightning arcs pass through his body harmlessly.

The lighting even cut Naruto's body a lot, but those cuts turned into flames and healed, leaving even the clothes intact.

"Flame clone?" 

Sasuke couldn't guess what type of ninjutsu is this.

"Sasuke, it seems like your years of training only brought you to this level,"

Naruto couldn't help but tease his old friend. He had his arms crossed as he shook his head in regret.

*Shing*

And Sasuke's response was him gritting his teeth, and his eyes rotating to reveal his three Tomoe Sharingan.
