Chapter 131

Dio closed his eyes to avoid feeling sick from the sharp smell of blood on the street and kept walking, dodging cars and bodies to reach the leader.

The best option was flying, but it was a spell, and Dio didn't want to lose control again and fall.

It wasn't long before the vampires came out from the sides of the streets.

A lot of them turned into mist and spun around them while making a cyclone of mist.

Dio couldn't help but say.

They were thrown in all directions as they were spinning so fast.

Raven took advantage of this by using her magic to lift a lamppost from the ground and throw it at two vampires.

They crashed into the fourth floor of the building in front of them and broke the windows.

Zatanna on the ground also pointed her wand at a car, which began to levitate.

The car was thrown like a paper ball with a flick of her hand killing two more vampires.

After solving this equation, the result becomes the magical effect, depending on the equation used.

To "solve" the equation, Dio used magic, and the more control he had over it, the easier it was to achieve the result without waste.

Dio had good control.

Cain's suction took him off guard when he conjured, and he lost both the tug-of-war and control of his spell.

It was a childish mistake.

Dio saw Raven and Zatanna using magic and thought the situation wasn't so difficult.

Dio forgot that both of them had more years of practice, study, and accumulated knowledge than he did.

"A group of people just got trapped by six vampires on your left!"

John shouted while using the communicator.

The three of them quickly moved to the location he said, and a group of people was cornered in an alley.

When they arrived, the vampires had already killed two of them.

Zatanna shot them with her wand from far away while hitting two of them in the back.

Raven wrapped them and threw them into the air.

Dio then used the movement of the shadows to appear in front of the last vampire, who was about to slit the heart of an old woman who was lying on the ground.

The vampire's claws spark off his shield. Dio stepped forward to lift his shield and make him back away.

This gave Dio enough space to punch and send him towards the wall.

After hitting him, the wall cracked, and the increasingly powerful vampire jumped.

Dio couldn't go back because of the old woman behind him.

Dio threw his shield at him and hit him in the neck.

He fell to the ground, and Dio was already there with his foot on his chest and his sword thrusting into his heart.

After turning around, Dio saw Raven and Zatanna helping the other scared and hurt people who were leaning against the wall.

Dio walked over to the woman and extended his hand to her.

"Are you hurt, ma'am?"

Dio asked politely, but she didn't respond.

Dio assumed the woman was in shock because of how she looked and breathed. He bent down and grabbed her arm to help her get up.

"Can either of you teleport them away?"

Dio asked the two who were more proficient in magic.

Zatanna crouched and pointed her wand at a wound on a boy's leg, and the wound was slowly closing.

"No, the effects are getting worse."

Zatanna replied in a low voice.

Dio looked to the left, and Raven simply shook her head.

"Please! Don't leave us here!"

A woman pleaded, sitting on the ground against the wall. She overheard their conversation and thought there was no way to save them.

"We won't leave anyone in danger!"

Dio spoke loudly to everyone before any panic set in.

They couldn't take them out of Cain's zone; it's expanding increasingly, and they won't be able to defend them while being drained like this.

"BOOOOM!"

Dio hit the wall in front of him with force to open a hole two meters high and wide—just enough for all of them to enter.

"Go, get in!"

Dio's sudden movement startled them, but they woke up shortly afterward and ran inside.

The girls helped the older ones.

"Vamos."

Dio told the two when everyone entered the basement, and he closed the door.

They went out onto the street again.

"BROOOOOM"

A black bat-like jet made a low fly-by just a few meters above the ground.

Wherever Batwing passed, it continuously fired missiles and sprayed everything on the street next to where they were with its machine guns.

Dio requested Zatanna.

A circle of blue energy appeared around them, and the piece of ground floated in the air.

She replied, with our piece of land gaining altitude rapidly.

Of course, it was faster than walking. After flying over the burning street, they faced Cain in seconds.

Zatanna shouted, and the stone they were standing on began to lose altitude.

Dio shouted in response and jumped with all his sword raised.

Dio jumped over the space between them in a single leap.

Cain was still floating shirtless, arms extended, releasing red energy in waves that strengthened the vampires and expanded and absorbed everything around him.

On the ground, a large part of the remaining vampire army stood still while waiting for something.

Dio didn't care about them. Dio pulled his arm back and was ready to thrust while he was in the air.

When the time came, Dio attacked with all his strength.

"SHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Dio's strike was perfect, but Cain's fingers stopped his sword without much difficulty.

"Ohh, what do we have here?"

Cain didn't let him fall. Instead, he raised his sword above his head and raised it above him.

He didn't care that his fingers were bleeding and looked right into his eyes.
