Song Jian followed the old man, heading towards the end of the Shadow District.

Along the way, virtually all the NPCs in the houses began to whisper amongst themselves. Some even peeked out from the gaps of their doors.

Whispers drifted into Song Jian's ears. He couldn't make out what they were discussing, but clearly, it revolved around the task he had accepted.

"Cough cough~" The old man suddenly coughed, glancing towards the houses on either side. His previously murky eyes now held a hint of sharpness, silencing the whispers around them as silence was restored.

"Warrior, this way, the library is just ahead!" The old man looked frail, as if he might collapse at any moment.

Song Jian nodded, becoming a little more cautious.

"It seems this hidden task of cleaning the library is not as simple as I thought..." Song Jian privately mused.
