Side story: Saint and Apocalypse

Author note:

sorry I put an unfinished draft earlier, this first maybe then makes sense

--------------------------------------

As we cast our gaze upwards, the celestial sphere reveals itself in all its glory. The moon, a familiar sight, is now encased in a colossal megastructure. This structure, a crystal photonic supercomputer, is the brainchild of the supreme leader of the World Alliance Empire. Its purpose remains shrouded in mystery, with the common belief being that it serves as a tool for predicting the future of mankind and conducting extensive research.

However, the supreme leader perceives this megastructure differently. To her, it holds a function far removed from the conjectures of the ordinary citizens of the World Alliance Empire.

Deep within the core of this megastructure, a woman with hair as white as snow stands on one of the many platforms. She is surrounded by numerous floating panels, her expression a maelstrom of confusion and concentration.

Suddenly, a panel materializes.

The panel instantly captures the woman's attention. As she reaches out to touch it, the panel shatters into fragments, resembling shards of golden, broken glass.

"Ah, another 'feeling' fragment," the woman murmurs, her voice tinged with disappointment. She gingerly picks up the fragment,

"Switch to another segment," she commands the computer with an air of authority.

Upon hearing the computer's affirmation, the woman dives from the platform, plunging into the core of the moon. The moon, once a barren celestial body, has been transformed into a supercomputer with a core. Its exterior merely serves as a shell, concealing the technological marvel within.

After what seemed like an eternity, she finally reached what appeared to be the core of the moon. However, it was a deceptive perception as she was actually standing on a platform that was merely in close proximity to the core.

With the golden shard in her hand, she moved towards one of the nearby terminals. As she approached, she was taken aback to see a figure leaning nonchalantly against the wall adjacent to the terminal.

The figure was a man, his hair as golden as the shard she held. He was dressed in a crisp white shirt and gray trousers, his gaze fixed on her as she approached.

"Apocalypse? Why are you here?" she queried, her voice echoing in the vast expanse of the core. Her curiosity was piqued as to why Apocalypse had chosen to visit her in this remote location.

Upon hearing her question, Apocalypse turned to face her fully. His lips parted as he responded, "Saint… isn't it wrong for old friends to visit each other?" A smile played on his lips as he uttered these words, adding a layer of warmth to the cold, technological environment.

Saint could only respond with an impassive expression before dismissing Apocalypse and resuming her task. She moved closer to the terminal, the golden fragment she held in her hand glinting in the artificial light.

The fragment hovered above the terminal for a moment, as if suspended in time, before it flew towards the core. Glancing back, Saint could see numerous other fragments floating in the vast expanse of the core.

Upon seeing the progress, a wave of desperation washed over Saint. Apocalypse, observing her expression, was intrigued. "Is it not enough?" he asked, his voice echoing in the silence.

"Not enough, it will never be enough!!! Even if I search for fragments until the universe reaches heat death, this task will never be completed!!!" Saint vented her frustration, her voice resonating with the raw emotion of her predicament. "He lacks the element 'consciousness' and I have never found it anywhere. When will I be able to return to his side…" Saint's voice trailed off as she turned to look at Apocalypse.

Apocalypse, upon seeing Saint's despair, could only sigh. He rose from his position against the wall, conjuring a sofa out of thin air. He sat down, gesturing towards his thigh to offer Saint a comforting place to rest.

Saint, upon seeing Apocalypse's gesture, felt her mood lift from the gloom that had previously enveloped her. She quickly took up the offer, her demeanor noticeably more cheerful as she settled into the comfort provided by Apocalypse.

"In theory, he is the only entity that exists…" Apocalypse began, his voice echoing in the vast expanse of the core.

"One, I am well aware of that, and there's no need for you to explain it to me again," Saint interjected, her voice laced with a hint of annoyance. She pouted slightly before continuing, "My Otto, the false god, should be singular and not manifest in infinite possibilities."

(This statement was a reference to the paradox of the multiverse. If there were multiple false god Ottos, it would imply that the universe where "Kallen survives" has always existed. This would mean that the other Ottos, who are peering into different universes, would already be aware of the possibility of Kallen's survival. Therefore, there would be no need for them to assume the role of a false god and create new possibilities.)

(In the previous episode, Kallen's death was established as a canonical event. While there might be different branches in the multiverse, the crux of the matter remains the same. There should only be one Otto for the unlimited possibility of Kallen's survival. This concept underscores the uniqueness of each entity in the multiverse, despite the existence of infinite possibilities.)

"Given your unique existence as a tangular entity and your dominion over the Imaginary Tree, if you can also invite your child, I implore you to assist me in locating him… I beg you, if you are an Otto who doesn't like me then find me an Otto who likes me" Saint pleaded with Apocalypse, her demeanor shifting to mimic the endearing charm of a feline.

Apocalypse, upon witnessing Saint's theatrics, could not help but erupt into laughter. Saint, noticing Apocalypse's reaction, merely pouted, "I'm being serious here."

"Of course, I will extend my assistance to you, but I have a question for you," Apocalypse responded, his tone shifting to a more serious one.

Saint turned her gaze towards Apocalypse, "What's the question? Remember, I'm not particularly adept at this sort of thing." Apocalypse, hearing her words, feigned a cough.

"Ahem, just one question, do you believe there exists a world parallel to yours, a world where Kallen is at the helm?" Apocalypse posed his question.

"A world like mine? In infinite possibilities there should be a possibility of that happening unless fate strangles that possibility" Saint gave his answer before continuing "My answer would be yes, but given the Honkai and my competence in other worlds I'm not sure they would pass the civilization and "filter" tests, maybe they would be a possibility that was pruned from the trees and fell into the sea of Quanta, I myself have been of assistance by you, remember?" Saint retorted.

Apocalypse, upon hearing Saint's response, could only smile with satisfaction, "Heh, your answer is intriguing. Now, let me share some information with you. He is in the world I mentioned, he…" Apocalypse began, only to be interrupted by Saint.

"What do you mean 'he' is there? Otto! You knew from the beginning where the last fragment was?!" Saint exclaimed, her voice echoing in the vast expanse of the core.

In an abrupt motion, Saint rose from her comfortable position on Apocalypse's thigh pillow. She pointed an accusatory finger at him, her eyes blazing with a myriad of emotions. Apocalypse, the recipient of her pointed gesture, calmly lowered her hand and began to speak.

"He began his journey as a homeless human, devoid of any significant memories until a glimmer of hope emerged. He enlisted himself in Schicksal, but due to Bishop Kallen's policies, he was thrust into a dark abyss. He found himself laboring in a place predicted to be the destination for slaves, or corporatists, from all corners of the world, a place known as Mihoyo. He was compelled to atone for sins he had no recollection of committing," Apocalypse narrated, intentionally crafting a misleading description for Saint's benefit.

Saint absorbed this information, attempting to piece together the puzzle.

1. The last fragment is a living entity suffering from amnesia.

2. He was once homeless.

3. He harbored hopes of working in Schicksal, but was instead incarcerated due to the malevolent Bishop Kallen.

4. He was forced to work like a slave in company named Mihoyo.

5. He was coerced into confessing sins he didn't remember committing. (voice actor for Otto Apocalypse character)

Upon processing this information, Saint was engulfed by a wave of annoyance. "WHO IS THIS BISHOP KALLEN!!! TELL ME THE COORDINATES OF THIS WORLD!!! WHAT IS HE DOING WITH MY OTTO!!!" she bellowed, her voice echoing throughout the core.

Apocalypse, witnessing Saint's outburst, feigned sadness, even though a sense of amusement was bubbling within him.

Author's Note:

this was previously a simulation of Kallen, when Kallen met Saint, Saint did not know that she was the bishop but when Luo Mo was teleported she was informed by Apocalypse and was angry, that's why in the simulation Saint was hostile to Kallen. (She is also the reason why the teleportation module malfunctioned and Luo Mo going sky diving.)
