Zusammenfassung

Like many books about reincarnation. This is a story about a young man reincarnating into a world filled with Vikings and Dragons. Let's see how he survives in this new world full of dangerous beasts and men. Disclaimer: The only things I own are my OCs and this story. This is my first story on here. If you don't like it, don't read it.

Chapter 1Prologue

A young man stirred in his sleep, restlessly turning about. His eyes shoot open as he gasps for air. Breathing heavily he looked around panicked, his face covered in beads of sweat. Wincing, he clutches his head, a splitting migraine making itself present as he groans in pain. Glancing to his side, a clock beeps, its face showing '6:00a.m'.

'Stupid nightmares…' He thought, clicking his tongue in annoyance.

Taking a deep breath, he smacks the clock, shutting it off as he rolls out of bed. Groaning, he rubs his eyes as he stretches his stiff limbs before walking into the bathroom. Now standing in front of his mirror, he blankly stares at his reflection, pondering, before grabbing a toothbrush and brushing his teeth.

He then took a quick shower, before walking out of the bathroom, and to an overflowing laundry basket, sifting through its contents. Pulling out a black t-shirt, black sweatpants, and some black socks he takes a whiff, scrunching his nose in displeasure.

"Ugh, I guess this is better than nothing." He says to himself.

After dressing himself, he left the room and walked glumly down a narrow hallway. As he reached the kitchen, he groaned before making himself the basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. Scarfing down the food he finished eating, it was small but filling nonetheless he noted to himself.

Slipping on his shoes, he grabbed his bag and stepped through the front door as he walked to his car. Jumping in he grumbled about the gray weather, pausing and sighing to himself. Did all his days have to be so monotonous? He missed when life was full of excitement when he was a child without a care in the world. Instead, he now lived like a robot executing a command on repeat.

He sighed deeply, shaking off his depressing thoughts before starting the car, pulling out of his apartment complex lot, as he began driving to his school. Turning on the radio he listened in, to a weatherman reporting on the weather as he stopped at a red light.

"Well folks, it looks like it's going to be a very rainy day. Weather reports show there is a high chance of heavy rainfall and a severe thunderstorm headed our way. It is advised that you be extra cautious on the roads and to stay indoors."

Cutting off the radio he grumbled, leaning back in his seat, as his hands gripped the steering wheel. He took a deep breath and glanced up at the once ocean-blue sky, now shrouded in thick dark clouds.

'I should probably grab a coffee before heading to school, it's not like I'll be learning anything any different…' He thought as he began driving toward the nearest coffee shop.

Rubbing his tired eyes, he tried to focus. He never was much of a morning person. Driving slowly he spots his destination, turning into the small lot, parking in the first spot he sees open. Dragging himself out of the car he trudged his way to the door, opening it only to find a long line of customers waiting.

'Oh come on, I should've just gone to school tired.' He groaned inwardly.

Sighing, he waited a while until he was finally at the counter. Paying for his coffee he left the shop and continued his drive. Slightly less fatigued, he managed to reach the school, going inside as he walked down the long halls.

Walking into the classroom he put his bag on the ground as he sat down. As more and more students came into class the professor walked in a few minutes later and began the lecture.

'These classes are always so boring.' The young man scoffed to himself.

He was not in the mood for any school-related work, he wanted nothing more than to get up and leave. After all, what's the point of repeating something over and over again if it never gets you anywhere?

"I feel like crap." The young man groaned as he walked out of the classroom. After an excruciatingly long day, he was finally able to leave. Walking as if he had a bag of heavy weights strapped to him, he used his remaining bits of energy to keep himself awake.

Exhausted, he stood at the entrance of the school, struggling to keep himself upright. With half-opened eyes, he watched the never-ending downpour of rain.

"Dang it, just my luck… I need to get home quickly before this storm gets any worse." He spat out, pushing himself to run toward his car as the rain beat against his skin.

Jumping in the car and starting it, he pulled away from his loathsome school, before driving back home. It felt as if he was driving forever, he could barely see the road ahead of him, the rain making it almost impossible to see more than a few feet ahead, while thunder reverberated through the air as if it were roaring at him.

As he drove, it became noticeably harder to steer. Suddenly his control was lost, and he began to spin uncontrollably. The car began to slide across the pavement like it was a hockey puck on ice. Trying to regain control of the vehicle, unsuccessfully, he heard a loud horn a few meters away from him. As he looked toward the source of the noise he noticed a huge truck barreling down at him.

"Oh you got to be a kidding m-"

*CRASH!*

A collision between the two vehicles took place. The truck slammed into the car, crushing its side as it flipped through the air. Landing upside down, the car skidded across the ground, coming to a halt, as an agonizing pain spread throughout the young man's body. A thick red substance flowed from the young man's head, as he violently coughed, his vision quickly growing faint. The thunder roared louder, as the rain fell harder than before.

His last thoughts flashed through his mind, his past, his childhood, and the life he could have lived if he hadn't gotten into this god-awful crash. With the world growing darker by seconds he breathed his final breath.

[Somewhere Unknown]

The young man opened his eyes, noticing how he was floating in a vast expanse of nothingness, an empty void if you could call it that. He tried to move but found it very difficult to even twitch an inch, only able to move his head around. Looking down he quickly noticed that his body was translucent, akin to that of those ghosts in those wizard movies.

"What the actual h-"

His words were cut short by an explosion, the void becoming consumed in a brilliance of light. He looked on in amazement before hearing a firm but soft voice behind him.

"Poor child. How much has one such as yourself suffered, I cannot express how deeply sorry I am." The voice told him.

Looking around frantically, he tried locating the source of the voice. "Who are you?! Where am I?!" He yelled at the unknown voice.

In an instant, a golden figure that looked to be made of light appeared in front of him.

"I go by many names, but you may call me… God."

'God?! So does that mean I'm dead?!' The young man thought.

"Calm yourself young one. Unfortunately, yes, you have passed on from the mortal realm, but do not be burdened by your grief. I shall grant you a new chance at life. A life that I ensure that you'll be fond of."

"But why me? Why out of everyone on Earth am I being given this opportunity?" The young man asked, slightly confused as to why such a being as God was granting him a second chance at life. I mean after all, he accomplished nothing in his life only going through the motions like a machine before his untimely demise.

"Because your time on earth was not meant to end so abruptly. You still had much to accomplish, but Truck-kun," He said as he glanced at a Truck, "Got the wrong person… So I'll be giving you this new life as an apology."

'Huh, how'd that get there?' The young man thought, as he blankly stared at the truck. He then paused for a brief moment before giving a response.

"Hmm, it's fine, it's not like anyone is waiting for me back on earth anyway so let's get one with this new life deal." He said.

"Very well. Your memories of this place will be wiped, and you will not remember the things that have transpired here." God told him.

"The loss of my memories is nothing compared to what you're doing for me so it's cool." He said, glancing at God.

"Excellent." With those words spoken, God placed a finger on his forehead, a sudden force began to pull him away, and his vision started to dim. Before he could fully slip away, he heard God speak once more.

"Make the most of your new life, enjoy it, and try not to have any regrets with this second chance I've given you." As soon as God finished speaking, the young man succumbed to the force that was pulling on him.

And then Darkness…
