After showing the the beacon and trying to answear any of her questions but she then asked me a tough question that I was hoping that would not have been asked, " Forgive me my Lord but... How old are you?" I began to steer towards the window looking upon the city that moves with life, where the lights flicker as every ones souls had been on display.
I closed my eyes remembering the horrors of my past, then sigh letting the memory slip back to my past, " Admrial do you know when this all began? When this war had started?" I felt her eyes peer into the back of my head with a questioning gaze, " My Lord we have been fighting the enemies of the Imperium for thousands of years. May I ask why ask the question?"
Hearing those last words, filled with uncertinty and regret over her face. I held my helmet under my arm and had my hand resting on the pummel of my sword, " Admrial I have seen the greatest forces of the Imperium brought to bear againest our foes, I saw the fleets of The Emperor reclaim the lost plants from old night but did you ever thought about where it all started, the cause of humanity fighting itself?" Turning to face her I taped onto the pummel of my sword, " Do you see this, this was a gift from my Primarch, Do you know when was the last time a Primarch was seen by the Imperium?"
By dropping this bomb of infomation on her which give her an idea of my age, which I asked her to keep it a secret and to swear on her honour to tell not a soul. I let the infomation set in and the Admrial's assistant knocked on to the door and put his head through, " My Lady your next appointment is about to be!" The assistant was immediately quieted by the Admrial as she rasied her hand, she stood up and walked towards the door, she spoke in hushed tone but I pride myself on my own abilities, espically my hearing. " Cancel all my appointments for today and please give them my apologise and will see them tomorrow when I can." The assistant visible in shock as he would be the one to be shouted at by those who wish garner favour of this potenial new Governor.
With the Admrial closing the door with force but allowing the assistant the time to remove his head from the door and then locked it, sighing she walked back to where she was talking to Titerus, " My Lord what do you require of me?" she stood there unwavering, this brought a gental smile to my face, " Admrial I thank you for your support but me, Delta and Rylanor require transport to that beacon as fast as possible the future of my Chapter depends on it and the lives of those who could be saved." The Admrial sat there unfazed, thinking on her words, " I will give you a ship but it is currently damaged does that matter to you my Lord?"
Any ship would do as long as it is fast, " Thank you Admrial I appreciate your support and please If you will, assign more crew to the ship so that when we reach our destination we maybe able to move the Gjallarhorn to safer harbor?" She noded with a accepting look because it made sense to have additional crew for this journey. With smile that was hiding her stress, " Do you require a larger security force?" Placing my helmet over my head I, turned to face the door and looked over my shoulder, " No thank you Fiora, for all the support that you have shown to us, I will not forget this and if you or anyone of your line should need the assistance of this Space Marine they will have it. Contact me when the ship is ready to depart." Leaving the office of the Governor to geather Delta, Rylanor and anything that we might need for the journey.
I hope every one is enoying the story!
Heres a question, what kind of ship do you think they might find???
Good luck!
