Hellena Groove sucked in a breath, gripping Aubree Groove's arm tightly, her whole body about to cling on to her.
"Aubree, you are so good to me."
Titi Groove hugged Aubree's other arm: "Aubree, Master McKay has been pretty good to you, and that puts me at ease."
She felt awkward calling him Brother McKay; clearly, he was nice to them only because of Aubree. Titi was self-aware.
Aubree fondly patted both of their heads, "You two, always thinking such nonsense."
Hellena took out her phone from her bag and dialed Sanny Groove: "Our older sister must have forgotten Aubree's birthday. I need to remind her."
Awkwardly, no one picked up the phone.
"Perhaps our older sister is busy; we'll call back later."
Big sister wasn't the same fiery-tempered woman she once was. After going through a serious illness, her personality had also changed.
Hellena wasn't fooled; she sensibly perceived the change in her older sister, but she couldn't figure out why.
