Chapter 5: Pokémon Voltage Academy

After accepting the challenge, a drone suddenly appeared and said, the battle between Troy Nightmare and Tom Crank will now begin."

All of a sudden, an arena near them started to form. Troy, still confused at what was happening, walked to the stage, and soon a crowd started to appear to see who was going to battle each other.

Once the arena was finished forming, an invisible barrier had formed around the arena, as well as a hologram showing Troy and Tom's faces with their Pokémon health beneath them.

Tom, seeing Troy's confused face, said to Troy, "Wow, do you not even know the first thing about this school? I'm pretty sure everyone knows about this, even the other transfer students." Troy, hearing this, felt a little embarrassed.

Tom then said, "Alright, since you probably also don't know about the points system, I will be so kind as to explain it. First, we give each other the same amount of points that we will battle for; since the school has just started and we're both not in the top 100, we just start with 500 points. Now we both offer a fair amount for this battle, so let's just go with 50 points for this battle." Troy agreed and offered 50 points, as did Tom.

After both had offered their points, a countdown started for when to throw their Pokémon out. Getting ready to send Fuecoco out when the countdown hits 1, both have thrown their Pokémon out, with Troy and Tom saying, "Go Fuecoco, I choose you," and "Rookidee go."

Both sending out their Pokémon at the same time were getting ready to choose their moves. Knowing what Fuecoco's moves were, he already called out, "Fuecoco use ember." Waiting for ember to already be used for the next few seconds, nothing had happened.

Looking over at Fuecoco, it was just standing there doing nothing. Troy's repeated request for Fuecoco to use ember was being ignored. Tom, seeing Fuecoco not listening to his trainer, was laughing out loud, "Hahaha, you can't even get your Pokémon to listen to you, and you're saying you're going to be the best at the academy, ha pathetic."

Tom then said to Rookidee "Rookidee use peck," hearing Tom's orders had used peck on Fuecoco.

Fuecoco, getting hit by Rookidee, started to get angry and used embers to fire out Rookidee, with Rookidee dodging each ember being fired at.

Troy saw Fuecoco still not listening to his orders, and everyone started laughing at Troy not being able to control his Pokémon.

Troy was starting to get annoyed at what was happening around him, and with Fuecoco also getting attacked and not listening. Troy started to calm himself with whistling, forgetting he was still in a battle and removing everything from his surroundings in his mind.

Everyone started to quiet down hearing Troy's whistling. People started whispering to each other, "What is he doing?" "He knows he's still in a battle, right?" "He's probably already given up and is just trying to make an excuse." "All that talk for nothing.

While everyone was talking to each other about what Troy was doing, Tom had noticed that Fuecoco had stopped randomly attacking. Not liking what was about to happen, Tom had told Rookidee to finish the battle fast. Just as Rookidee was about to attack, Fuecoco dodged all of a sudden and looked as if it was waiting for a command.

Troy, still whistling, opened his eyes to see Fuecoco not attacking randomly. When he finally stopped whistling, he thought he might tell Fuecoco an order: Fuecoco, use ember, then tackle."

Fuecoco, hearing what to do, used ember at Rookidee and also went for a tackle. Tom, not standing there like an idiot, told Rookidee to dodge and use peck to finish this battle.

Rookidee dodged the ember attack and went for the peck while Fuecoco used tackle, both pokemon landing their hits at the same time. Troy and Tom, waiting to see who the victor was, looked up at the screen to see that Rookidee was on the red, still standing, while Fuecoco was knocked out.
