Upon hearing Yuga's proposal, Rand's eyes brightened, and he nodded, clearly intrigued by the idea of fishing.
Since it was already getting late, after finishing their meal, Yuga and Rand didn't wander around anymore. Instead, they returned to their room.
Once in the room, Yuga released the other five Pokémon from his Poké Balls and gave them each an Pokéblock to eat.
Seeing Yuga's impressive Pokémon, Rand's eyes were filled with envy, and even a hint of admiration he himself hadn't noticed.
Seeing Rand constantly gazing at his Pokémon, Yuga ruffled his hair and said with a smile, "What do you think? My Pokémon are quite impressive, aren't they?"
Rand nodded, agreeing with Yuga's self-praise.
Yuga thought to himself, "This kid's taste is getting better."
"Don't worry, as long as you work hard, your Blitzle will become just as powerful in the future."
Encouraged by Yuga's words, Rand nodded, his eyes filled with determination.
Early the next morning, Yuga was awakened by Rand, and at that moment, his inner self was in turmoil.
Because back home, he had to get up early every morning to train with his Pokémon, so there were very few opportunities for him to sleep in.
Having finally gotten a chance to be away from home and on the ship, where it wasn't convenient to train his Pokémon, Yuga had decided to get a good night's sleep. But he didn't expect Rand to ruin that plan.
With a dazed look, clearly still annoyed from being woken up, Yuga spoke impatiently, "What's the matter? It's so early in the morning, why are you up so early?"
But Rand remained unfazed, speaking calmly, "Fishing."
Yuga sat up on the bed, ruffled his messy hair, and grumbled, "Do we have to get up so early just to go fishing? Can't we do it later?"
Rand didn't say anything; he simply looked at Yuga.
Yuga realized that Rand's gaze held a powerful force, one that he often couldn't withstand. So, reluctantly, he got out of bed.
After freshening up, feeding his Pokémon, and having breakfast with Rand, the two of them brought out the fishing rods that Yuga had prepared and went to the deck.
The fishing bait they used was purchased from the ship. Since there were often fishing enthusiasts on board, a place selling fishing rods and bait had been set up.
According to the system's introduction, the super fishing rod Yuga had bought from the Trainer's Store had a certain bonus effect for fishing Water-type Pokémon. Whether this was true or not, he wasn't sure.
"Rand, have you fished before?"
Rand shook his head, indicating that he hadn't.
"Then just follow my lead!"
Yuga had fished before in his previous life, but he had never fished for Pokémon. He wasn't sure if his previous experience would be of any use, but since neither of them had any proper experience, he figured he might as well share his "pseudo" experience.
Adjusting the fishing line, the hook, and placing the bait, Yuga executed a series of actions seamlessly. Rand imitated every move.
However, due to Rand's young age, he struggled a lot when casting the fishing rod. Yuga teased him, "Make sure to hold onto the railing tightly. If you happen to hook a big catch and it drags you into the sea, I won't have time to save you, you know."
Rand didn't pay attention to Yuga's playful words. He focused on his fishing rod seriously, waiting for his catch to bite.
Today, the weather at sea was exceptionally good. Although it was summer, the sun wasn't scorching, and instead, it illuminated the clear and translucent seawater.
The sea was calm and the horizon met the distant sea level, with clusters of white clouds decorating the sea and the blue sky, creating a picturesque scene.
While appreciating this rare sight, Yuga also patiently waited for his catch to bite.
Just then, Yuga suddenly felt his fishing rod move, indicating that he had caught something. He knew that he had a catch on the line.
When the catch was securely hooked, Yuga seized the moment and swiftly reeled in the fishing line, pulling up a red and white fish-shaped Pokémon onto the deck.
It turned out to be a Goldeen, and it was a red quality specimen.
"Go, Budew!"
"Budew!"
At Yuga's command, Budew emerged from his side and confronted Goldeen.
After spending so much time growing up, Budew had reached a point where it could engage in battles. Its level had also reached 13 through training, slightly higher than the other babies that were born before it.
Sending out Budew wasn't about capturing Goldeen; it was for the purpose of training and strengthening their bond.
Battle was a way for Pokémon and Trainers to communicate their feelings effectively.
Goldeen on the deck leaped about and launched a Water Pulse at the suddenly appearing Budew.
A blue water sphere was expelled from Goldeen's mouth and shot toward Budew.
"Budew, dodge quickly!"
Yuga hurriedly commanded Budew to evade Goldeen's Water Pulse.
"Budew!"
With its small and agile body, Budew easily dodged Goldeen's attack by hopping around.
"Budew, use Stun Spore!"
Seeing Budew successfully evade the Water Pulse, Yuga immediately ordered it to counterattack.
Numerous brown particles sprayed out from Budew's bud on top of its head, forming a smoky cloud that enveloped Goldeen.
Out of the water, Goldeen couldn't freely move on land. It could only watch as it was surrounded by the Stun Spore and then fell into a paralyzed state.
In a paralyzed state, Goldeen couldn't successfully execute any moves. Eventually, it lost its battle capability after Budew used Absorb to drain its energy.
Achieving victory in its first battle, Budew appeared very happy, hopping around and running to Yuga, seeking praise.
Yuga patted its head, praised it, and then approached the incapacitated Goldeen. He fed it a Cheri Berry to cure its paralysis, followed by an Oran Berry to restore its energy. Finally, he released it back into the sea.
After releasing Goldeen, Yuga continued with his fishing endeavors.
Following Yuga's capture of Goldeen, Rand also caught a Qwilfish.
After reeling in Qwilfish, Rand followed Yuga's example and battled with his Blitzle against Qwilfish. After winning the battle, he released Qwilfish back into the sea.
Seeing that it was also a red quality Pokémon, Yuga didn't pay much attention to it.
Despite Rand's young age, his battling skills were not lacking. He truly lived up to being a top student of the Trainer School.
Although Blitzle's quality wasn't excellent and its level wasn't high, relying on its type advantage and Rand's skillful guidance, it managed to defeat the higher-level Qwilfish.
