Chapter 20: Sports festival part 1

After a few days of tial and error of making the leg armor with many variations and hastles he finished engraving and the spikes are polished and cleaned of the excess material during the casting. He stopped working and slept in the workshop office couch while his students are the ones to turn off the electricity of the workshop while they are doing finishing touches for their support items .

Early Morning UA Blacksmithing Workshop:

With a fresh morning and a fresh mind he starts to complete the leg armor while the students began to leave for the sports festival and packing up their tents and sleeping bags to leave the workshop but they put them in the locker rooms to store them safely. As the students bid farewell and a thank you to Ryu he then waves and bid them a goodluck for the festival as the leave Ryu who is now Welding the spikes properly and begins to place them properly the spike were on the shin parts of the armor mostly with a few from the foot platings and knee caps. But an issue is the Welding marks are making it ugly seeing blobs of hardened steel and Welding marks making it uglier Ryu then used his angle grinder with the sanding wheels to remove those blobs and Welding marks and repolished them with a satin brush polish he finished the platings. After finishing them he then starts sewing them but the tricky part is that he needs pins to connect the padding and the arming doublet together but since today it's his day off for now he stopped working and started to check out the venue of the UA sports festival.

UA Sport Festival Stadium morning:

He was checking around the area and seeing the food stalls already setting up media stations and TV channels setting up cameras, Support companies, heroes guarding and watching the arena, and millions of people watching for students to be invited for their internships. Ryu on the other hand roam around the area to check the new stuff and encountering some teachers as well. As people taking their seats Ryu was confused where the teachers lounge is until he sees cementos his fellow co-worker told him where it is.

UA stadium teacher's seating area:

Ryu arrived at the seating area for the teachers. as he arrived he was welcomed by Principal Nezu and the other teachers watching the sports festival in a nice view even Toshinori Yagi aka All Might welcomed him since he was somewhat new nezu told him it was All Might shocking him to the core but he regain his composure right after. "Ah! Good morning to you Ryu" All Might greeting Ryu "Hey All Might so how's you day?" he asked which he said its fine and as they both took their seats.

As the event begins with the introduction of the first years the hero course which had the most cheers from the crowd. With 1b and followed with the general course, Support course, and business course. Ryu who was currently watching at the teacher's podium he sees midnight using the whip he gave to her. He then watch the Sports festival as it unfolds itself before starting the first event they have to start with a speech from the student who is no. 1 in the entrance exam. In which he already met who is Katsuki Bakugo as he reached to the podium and infront of the mic he starts to speak "I pledge... That I'll be no. 1" Ryu reacted with a blank face and the teachers with a sigh of disappointment and some with them pinching the bridge off their nose. And students began to complain and some even boed at him from his arrogance and he even gave them a thumbs down.

Ryu was somehow asking All Might about his attitude "Katsuki Bakugo has a very strong quirk but his attitude is always like this and had a short temper which cause alot of hassle with him" he explained Bakugo's attitude "Probably got spoiled from his praises and admiration from his peers during his younger years" he said about the reasons of his attitude "So you have seen these types of attitudes before? " Toshinori asking "Yeah happened when I was a kid and my dad was in charge of the forge there were thugs who wanted to request protection money from him but he denied those request but those guys showed off their quirks and said there heroes but my dad grabs his sledgehammer and began pounding them and kicking them out from his workshop and many said they would return to arrest him but there was cctv evidence inside the workshop so yeah those heroes were arrested for trespassing us and attempted assault" he explained while Some of the teachers heard their conversation cringed from the sledgehammer beatings to the corrupt heroes as well as All Might.

As the first event started being a obstacle race the commentary with Present Mic and Eraser Head as a commentary partner with Mic. Ryu observes the race as the crowd cheered to the students charging towards the starting area towards the door. As Ryu already saw the doorway is too narrow for the students which was the first obstacle course as Mic ask Aizawa the first obstacle "The Door" he said as students in a different camera angle were struggling to squeeze through and some are pushing, reaching,and even hitting each other get to the other side. He can feel that and he relates it to people in his local market always doing those when there is meat or vegetables for sale all the time. As students were getting off of the until he sees some students are climbing the walls using their items. He knew it was one of his students making some climbing gear either from support or general studies are using his forge and smithing knowledge to make those and some with crazy gadgets and equipment to show off.

Until a student with red and white hair Shoto Todoroki used his ice quirk to freeze the hallways and seeing students stuck but his fellow classmates and 1B leap and above the ice to avoid getting stuck. Ryu who is watching felt bad for those who are stuck and was slightly pissed but it can't be help since it's the sports festival. Then he continues on watching the sports festival unfold and enjoying his break from forging.
