Chapter 107

Overall, he could manage to sleep for approximately three hours during classes and two hours during his training. The rest of the time was spent on pushing his body to its limits every single day at least three times.

As months passed by, the difficulty had gotten easier. Working with his own body weight didn't feel like it helped him much as he could now hit the hundreds relatively easily.

To maximize efficiency, he decided to incorporate weights but that was when he remembered about the book that was given to him by Helen. He summoned it near him and read its contents which puzzled him quite a bit as it was something that he never expected to work.

The book basically said that the royal guards imitated the wild animals to train their bodies. The uses and functions didn't really look too grand in his eyes so he scrapped the idea of using that method.

Large wooden logs were conjured and then transfigured into wooden dumbbells and barbells. He used them and instantly noticed the difference. His highest count had fallen back to tens and twenties.

'Now it feels better!'

****************

It was the third Friday of May when Alex had decided to retire to bed early. He walked back to his dormitory happily and fell asleep at almost eight at night. For the first time in four months, he slept without using any kind of alarm spells on himself or his surroundings.

After a long twelve hours worth of decent sleep, Alex headed to the grounds after freshening up. He had joined the practice for the past two weeks just so he could have a nice synergy with the team and that was what had happened.

Every single player had gotten better at their own roles as they had taken their practice sessions and training pretty seriously. Alex did a little bit of warm-up before jumping onto a Nimbus two thousand and one that he had forcefully borrowed from Malfoy a few days back.

The three chasers were the only ones who were excitedly discussing about formations and plays while the other four simply relaxed in the stands, away from the hot sun.

"Hmmm…. Currently, Slytherin is in first place with 880 points, Hufflepuff second with 710 points, Gryffindor third with 640 points and we are at the last with just 370 points…."

"Yeah…. Are you confident that we can do it?", Jason asked and Alex nodded.

"We can…. We just need to score 520 points while trying to keep Gryffindors' score below 250. The gap is huge but we should be able to manage as long as we get Harry first. He's the biggest wildcard."

Jason nodded quietly and closed his mind, trying to relax while Alex happily fell asleep beside him.

Quite some time had passed since he had decided to take a small nap when he was woken up by Jason.

"It's time…. Let's wear our uniforms and get into the air, hehe."

"Yeah, sure….", Alex said groggily as he stood up and followed him straight to the locker room.

He wore his uniform and bumped shoulders with Aman, "This whole match will rest on your shoulders. I take the people out while you keep the quaffle from getting past you. Kay?"

Aman nodded and sighed before walking away. The whole team kept glancing at him like he had murdered their families and while he didn't really care too much, the fact that Aman just ignored him had somehow got to his head.

"Ah… what a bunch of idiots you all are. They do their best to win against us while we cry here, debating if the thing we are about to do is unfair or not. Just keep one thing in mind, life is never fair. You either make things unfair for others or face the brunt yourself.

Slytherins all use the best brooms in the market now and do you think that it's fair? Of course not. That's just life. Some of us were born with nothing while others are born with a silver spoon. What you become in the future is in your own hands and I refuse to lose. You guys can do whatever you want but don't look at me like I am some kind of villain here.

Fucking twats."

************

Lee Jordan stood at the commentary podium and was trying to keep things lively but almost every Gryffindor looked grim. Half of the Ravenclaws decided to silently stand with their own house while the others wore red and gold to support the opponents.

It was the Slytherins who roared as they wore the Ravenclaw colors and cheered them on.

"Break their bones! Break their bones! Break their bones!....."

The chants echoed through the air while everyone else sat silently, grim-faced. Flitwick didn't look great either as he looked at the ongoing match.

Three hours had passed since the start of the match and there were already three players missing on one team. Alicia Spinnet, Katie Bell, and Oliver Wood were absent on the Gryffindor side.

Alex glided freely through the air as he waited for another good setup from Jason who was the only one who seemed to want to help him out to the best of his abilities while the rest of his team tried their best to not make eye contact with him

The score was currently 330 to 80 with Ravenclaw leading. Harry flew high in the sky, circling as he tried his best to spot the golden snitch. He didn't care about winning anymore as he simply wanted to end the match as soon as possible.

Twenty more points later, the Slytherins stopped cheering for them and silently looked on. A few minutes later, every single person in the stands stood up as they stared at the boy who dived straight down.

Harry dived straight to the ground and when he was close enough to the glint he had seen, he stretched his hand, hoping that he could end the match soon. He was just a few inches away from his goal and could tell that Cho was right behind him as he could feel someone's presence.
