Chapter 66

A weirdly shaped, spiraling object flew out from the castle and headed straight towards the forbidden forest.

Alex stood on top of a thick rope which floated inside the group of many other spiralling ropes. With is wand tip touching his ear lobes, he closed his eyes and focused on the sounds he received.

It didn't take too long for him to hear a low grumbling sound that didn't sound alive. He shot straight towards the sound and saw the thing he wanted to.

The blue car didn't look too good and stopped moving. It blinked its headlights on him before turning to the left and speeding off, only to be lifted up into the air by things similar to the ones that had bullied it not too long ago.

The engine quietened down after a giving out whimper like sound. Alex paid no heed to the car and closely examined it after bringing it down.

'Invisibility spell… some advanced flight spells… some advanced level transfiguration too… space magic and a few other charms that have zero relation to souls. Lastly, I don't really sense any souls even when I use this spell…' he thought as a greenish light shone from his wand for a second before extinguishing.

The car shook slightly when he tapped the glass a bit harder than he intended to, making him squint his eyes in curiosity.

'Not a soul… does that mean it has consciousness? Or is there something else at play here? Control? Long distance control or maybe something else. This really is fascinating.'

The ropes gently put the car back on the ground and stuffed themselves inside Alex's ring. Making use of the opportunity, the car sped away again and this time, there was no resistance.

Alex shook his head slightly and whispered the one being's name who could help him with most of his problems. The one being who Alex simply used as a free taxi.

Toffy apparated right in front of Alex and knew exactly what its master wanted just by the way he looked at him. It only took two seconds for Alex to find himself in his bed, tucked in comfortably.

'Ah man… just what would I do without him…', he thought as he went to sleep smiling, hoping to get even a little bit of sleep before his so-called friend woke him up.

Unfortunately for him though, loud voices disturbed his peaceful sleep. He was about to use the muffiliato on whoever it was but stopped when he saw Aman standing in front of him.

The other three had decided to play tag and be a nuisance to the society while Aman stared down at Alex who was pointing his wand at him. He saw his friend squint his eyes, withdraw his wand and cover himself up completely with the blanket as if hiding from something.

"… this guy. Did you sneak out today too?", he said as he leaned in closer to Alex's head. His fingers traced over the blanket and when he found the thing he wanted, he pinched hard.

Alex flailed around for two seconds before giving Aman a strong kick that had so much force behind it that he hit the wall extremely hard. The other three Ravenclaws looked at each other a few times before heading out silently while Alex sat up, rubbing his forehead.

"For heaven's sake, why did you pinch my nose?"

"It's time for breakfast… and I wanted to tell you something.", he said as he stood back up and walked towards Alex who took out a ceramic container and threw a round pill inside his mouth.

"Alright, tell me. What's the time anyways?"

"It should be about eight now. I'll tell you everything while we have our breakfast.", he said as he put on his robes and threw Alex's over to him.

Alex simply sighed and stood up before wearing all his robes.

"Let's go then… ugh my head hurts. Two hours of sleep isn't really enough."

Alan gave him a dirty look, "So you really did sneak out! The worst part is that you didn't take me with you!"

"Yeah yeah… what did you want to talk to me about anyways?", he asked as he looked at Aman who looked a bit conflicted.

"Well… this summer, in the third week, I got a letter from Hannah."

"Oh okay. Is this the thing you wanted to say?"

"No… I didn't reply back to her and well… you know what she did last year. I don't really hate her but I want her to apologise first. That's the reason I didn't send the letter I wrote in return."

"… is that it? What's so complicated? Tell her to apologise."

"I want her to apologise without me asking her to."

Alex facepalmed before he grabbed Aman's shoulder, looked at him and said, "My dear, dear friend. Please keep me out of this. Talk it out with her or her friend."

"Alright…. Umm okay. I'll do something about it myself. So, you really don't want to get back to being their friends?"

Alex simply stared into his eyes as he increased his grip on Aman's shoulder.

"O- Okay! I understand! I understand. So uh, what's your plan with the duels? D- do you plan on keeping the first place?"

Alex let go of him and shook his head slightly, "Not really… if someone challenges me to a duel, I'll just let them win. Also about being friends with them, I don't really mind but you know what happened last year."

"Oh that's..." Aman said before sighing loudly and changing the topic, "Does that mean… if I challenge you, you'll let me win?"

"Yeah. Although I don't know if you'll be able to keep the position. You got any goals this year? You're still at the middle in the leader boards. I somehow regret teaching you."

"Hey, don't say that. I'll do my best to climb the ranks but I'll refrain from the night training from today. There is no reason to improve anymore is there?"
